The Kansas City Public Library and the Toronto Public Library inspired a 2015 World Series challenge where students were tasked with summarizing documents in 3 sentences or less to concisely provide the essential information. The challenge called on students to distill complex documents down to their core meanings and high level takeaways in a concise format. Students from the two cities' library systems rose to the challenge by crafting succinct summaries that captured the key points and most important details from source materials.
