This case study analyzes Tata Motors' acquisition of Jaguar Land Rover from Ford in 2008. It provides background on both companies and the rationale for the deal. The acquisition allowed Tata to expand globally and diversify beyond commercial vehicles. While risky, the strategic fit was strong and Tata hoped to leverage JLR's premium brands. The analysis finds that under Tata, JLR has significantly improved its performance, transforming from losses to strong profits. However, the case also notes challenges integrating cultures and the large debt taken on for the acquisition.

EMV (Europay, Mastercard,
Visa) chip active cards allow
for increased security and
easier use of the card while traveling.
EMV chips, similiar to Apple Pay, use a
sophisticated cryptogram commonly
used to validate data integrity, which
enables dynamic authentication. “The
creation of dynamic cryptograms
for every transaction with online
authentication is an important
feature of chip cards that provide
enhanced levels of security,” said
Randy Vanderhoof, director of the EMV
Migration Forum. “Using this process
means that even if fraudsters were
somehow able to steal account data
from chip transactions, they would not
be able to use it to create a counterfeit
card and have fraudulent transactions
authorized in a chip or magnetic stripe
environment.” As your Grange Credit
Union cards expire we will be updating
all of them to EMV.

“The soil is the great connector
of lives, the source and
destination of all. It is the healer
and restorer and resurrector, by
which disease passes into health,
age into youth, death into life.
Without proper care for it we
can have no community, because
without proper care for it we can
have no life.”
- Wendell Berry
“Organic is something we can
all partake of and benefit from.
When we demand organic, we
are demanding poison-free
food. We are demanding clean
air. We are demanding pure,
fresh water. We are demanding
soil that is free to do its job and
seeds that are free of toxins. We
are demanding that our children
be protected from harm. We
all need to bite the bullet ...
we must make organic the
conventional choice and not the
exception available only to the
rich and educated.”
