January 4th, 2014
Congress has passed the first lead free law
known as the Reduction of Lead in Drinking
Water Act, reducing lead from 8% to 0.25%
the amount of the lead allowed in "lead free" *plumbing fixtures in
potable water applications. This is similar to the laws in the state of
California and Vermont. Flomatic has been committed to providing
products that meet low lead content for over 20 years.

Most products in this catalog have been tested and certified by IAPMO, an ANSI
accredited third party to comply with the laws and NSF 372. Flomatic puts “LF” on casting or an IAMPO sticker.
* The wetted surface of this product contacted by consumable water contains less than one quarter of one percent (0.25%) of lead by weight.

• Model 80E-VFD – Unleaded Bronze VFD Check 1” thru 4”
These new, special patent pending submersible pump check valve for use with variable-
frequency drive (VFD) control submersible pumps. This unique valve is designed to minimize
flow losses and hydraulic shocks in the pumping system. An exclusive stainless steel guided
poppet system ensures that the valve automatically adjusts noiselessly from high to very
low flow rates. The valve seat allow a self-cleaning “one point swiping action” by the
radius-edged custom molded rubber disc.

• Model 888S6/888S6R – in stock now
The new all 316 Stainless Steel Wafer Style Check Valve is available in 2” – 8”
with metal to metal seating (888S6) or with a Buna-N option (888S6R) for a
drip tight sealing. The Model 888 valve is designed for simple flange supported
installation and will operate equally well in any position and is dual rated for
ANSI 125# or 250# mounting. The double guided spring loaded poppet system
maximizes efficiency and minimizes water hammer with an easy field
exchangeable internal system.

• Model 82DI-VFD – Male x Male
These new valves feature the patent pending special VFD poppet design that works
under low flow when the VFD ramps the pump up and down. They feature a male x
male NPT threads standard with optional short 8 round threaded inlet and outlet con-
nection for easy transition from the pump discharge end to the pipe. Available in

⁄2”, 4” and 5”.

SIZING GUIDE for THROTTLING VALVES
In order to insure pressure control and avoid excessive noise and maintenance expense, extreme care must
be taken when sizing the throttling valve for a specific application. Although both pressure conditions and flow
(velocity) are contributing factors, field experience has determined that flow rate is the most critical factor and
that proper valve sizing can be attained through consideration of the flow rate alone.
The maximum flow rates in tables below for Model C (full ported valves) are based on a velocity of 15 feet per
second, fps or (4.6 meter per second, m.s). The throttling valve is capable of handling larger flows for shorter
periods of time; however, the increase in maximum flow should be limited to 25% of the above values. Minimum
flow rates are based on 0.5 feet/second flow rate (0.15 meter per second, m/s). Valve should be selected to be
opened between 20-30% for best efficiencies and service life. The flow values for Model CF (Reduce ported
valves) in the table below are less as they have smaller valve orifice or seat areas.
The tables below indicate the desired throttling valve size (inches) for designated maximum and minimum flow
rates in gallons per minute (GPM):

WARRANTIES
LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY (Complete Product Line)
Flomatic Corporation warrants that its products are free from defects in materials
and workmanship. Flomatic will replace any valve covered by this warranty that is
found to be defective within one year, unless otherwise stated below, from the time
of sale. This warranty will be void if the product has been modified in any way by
the purchaser, or is subjected to unreasonable use.
LIMITED 5-YEAR WARRANTY (Enviro-Check®
and Enviro Foot Valves)
Flomatic warrants that its ENVIRO-CHECK®
AND FOOT VALVES, in all sizes up to 4”,
are free from defects in materials and workmanship. Flomatic will replace, upon
return authorization approval number, any ENVIRO-CHECK®
OR ENVIRO FOOT VALVE
covered by this warranty that is found to be defective within five years from the
time of sale. This warranty will be void if the product has been modified in
any way by the purchaser, or is subjected to unreasonable use. These limited
warranties extend to the original purchase from Flomatic only; they do not extend
to any other purchaser or transferee.
EXCLUSION OF WARRANTIES
Flomatic makes no warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to its valves,
other than the expressed limited warranties described herein. The implied war-
ranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are hereby dis-
claimed by Flomatic . There are no warranties that extend beyond the description
on the face hereof.
WARNING-NOT DESIGNED, INTENDED OR PERMITTED IN NUCLEAR
FACILITY APPLICATIONS. FLOMATIC VALVES ARE NOT DESIGNED
OR ENGINEERED FOR USE IN ANY NUCLEAR FACILITY OR IN
CONJUNCTION WITH ANY NUCLEAR FACILITY OR SUPPORT FACILITY.
USE OF ANY OF FLOMATIC’S PRODUCTS IN ANY SUCH APPLICATION
IS A MISUSE OF THESE PRODUCTS AND VOIDS ALL WARRANTIES
CONTAINED HEREIN, EXPRESSED AND IMPLIED, OF MERCHANTABILITY
AND FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
EXCLUSION OF INCIDENTAL
AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
In no event shall Flomatic be liable for incidental or consequential damages,
including but without limitation, damages of personal injuries resulting from the
negligence of Flomatic, which may arise from the manufacture, sale, purchase and
/or use of Flomatic valves. It being intended that purchaser’s exclusive remedy is
limited to replacement of defective products. Some states do not allow the exclusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitation on how long an
implied warranty lasts, so that the above limitations may not apply to you. Contact
your distributor or Flomatic at address shown if you have any questions about the
coverage of this warranty or service under this warranty. This warranty gives you
specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.
NOTE: Flomatic reserves the right the change and/or alter valve
products without prior notice. Consult factory for valve specifications.
