Fr Henry Mukasa is thanked for celebrating Masses at St Anthony’s from time to time. We sympathise with him following the recent
death of his brother. Next weekend we welcome Mgr Vladimir Felzmann and Fr Kevin Ryan who are covering for Fr Martin.
Peter McGrath, R.I.P. Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Peter McGrath whose Funeral Mass was celebrated on
Friday 18 January.
This weekend, 19/20 January With other parishes across the Diocese we focus on the Sacraments at Sunday Masses in this second
Season of the Year of Faith. It is also Peace Sunday. Blessed are the Peacemakers…The parish will send a donation to Pax Christi, the
International Catholic Movement for Peace.
Saturday 2 February – The Presentation of the Lord Mass will be celebrated at 10am. Candles will be blessed. Those attending
Mass may wish to bring candles from their homes for these to be blessed.
Parish Centenary Year 2013 Our parish was founded one hundred years ago and this year, 2013, is our Centenary Year! A group
will be set up to begin planning ways in which we can mark and celebrate our Centenary Year, and it is hoped that a diary of events
and celebrations will follow. When the Holy Family Room is ready for use a meeting will be arranged.

Clergy Availabilty Fr Martin will be in the Parish Office on Wednesday 30 January, 5.30-6.30pm.

Baptism Catholic parents with a child to be Baptised should meet with Fr Martin during Clergy Availability to talk about
arrangements concerning the celebration of Baptism. In requesting Baptism, Catholic parents are reminded that they must be
practising Catholics attending Saturday evening or Sunday Mass and will promise to bring up their children as Catholics.
Marriage At least six months notice needs to be given to Fr Martin for marriages to be celebrated here or elsewhere to give adequate
time for administrative and pastoral preparation.
Archbishop’s Mass of Thanksgiving for the Sacrament of Matrimony Couples who are celebrating their 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th and
60th+ wedding anniversary of Catholic marriage in 2013 may like to be invited to the special Mass of Thanksgiving at Westminster
Cathedral on Saturday 18 May 2013 at 3pm. Qualifying couples are asked to give the names of the husband and wife, the date of
wedding, and their full postal address and email (or phone number if no email) to Debbie in the Parish Office so that invitations can
be sent out by Archbishop’s House. Debbie needs to have the information by Wednesday 18 April.
Parish Youth Club meets this Friday, 25 January, in the Parish Centre.
Parish Building Project - week 30. Work continues to enhance our parish property, including more work in the church. We need to
create a fire escape route from the rear of the sanctuary - this work is due to start the week beginning 28 January. Work will also start
on the new disabled persons’ toilet, the provision of ramped access to the church and the improvements to the Repository. The Holy
Family Room will be a chapel for use during Mass and for meetings when the work has been completed. It is hoped that all the work
will be completed by the beginning of March. Thank you for your support and patience as work continues…
Red Boxes, for support of ‘Missio’ and the Overseas Missions are available for collection from the back of the church.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, 18-25 January With Our Lord we pray that all who follow Him may be united. We pray and
work for the unity of Christians.
Car Parking in front of the church is not permitted during the building work. The contractors need constant access to this area.
Please park on the local streets with consideration, without blocking residents’ drives or causing inconvenience to others. Please do
not park across the entrance to Edgware Junior School as access is needed at all times.
Year of Faith continues until 24 November 2013. The Year commemorates the 50 th Anniversary of the Second Vatican Council and
the 20th Anniversary of the new Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is an opportunity for us all to grow in faith. We are now in
Season 2, focusing on Sacraments. Season 3 will be on living our Faith; Season 4, prayer and spirituality.
