Warm up : Revise everything that pupils find specially difficult before they begin the lesson.
Presentation : 1. Look at the pictures with the class. Ask them to say what they can see in each picture.
2. Individuals ask a question about each picture in turn for their classmates
to answer. Go round the class giving help where necessary.
Practice : Handout 7 Day 2. When in Hua Hin --- Read the handout while pupils listen and read the
text silently.
3. Explain the meaning of any new words pay attention to pronunciation a well. Do choral
and individual repetition to make sure pupils understand the words.
4. Pupils read the text aloud, chorally and individually as follows.
Day 2 When in Hua Hin ---
After breakfast at the hotel, we went sightseeing around Hua Hin for an hour. There were a lot of
interesting things, and the weather was fresh and clean.
Next, we drove to Klai Kangwol School because we wanted to visit Klai Kangwol Palace. We knew
that the King was staying there for a change. So we couldn’t visit the palace without asking permission. Then
we took a trip to the Royal Rain-Making Station in Boh Fai to study the King’s Rain-Making Research and
Development Project.
His Majesty realised the importance of having enough water for farming in the dry season. He tried
makingartificialrain.Finally,thefirstrain-makingwassuccessful.IfrainedatPakChong,NakornRatchasima
in 1969.

The Royal Rain-Making Project has offered artificial rain services to farmers across the country since
1971. There has been more rain than that given by nature. Thanks to the officials of the Royal Rain-Making
Project, we learned how to make artificial rain. The King is really clever.
I felt hungry, so we stopped for lunch at a seaside food shop. The food was good. I liked it very much.
Intheafternoonwewenttotheseasidenearthehotel.Wewalkedalongthewhitesandybeachlooking
for beautiful seashells. Then mum and I went swimming. Dad, a golf lover, went to play golf at a nice golf
course.Ienjoyedswimmingverymuch.Itwasalsogoodfuntoseepeopleswimming,diving,skiinginthesea
and hiking on the beach. That’s why I fell in love with Hua Hin, a wonderful place for families and tourists.
We knew that King Bhumibol himself a saxophonist and composer, played jazz as hard as he worked
whenhewasyoung.Welovedjazztoo.SoafterdinnerwewenttotheHuaHinJazzFestival2006tolistento
jazz music at the Sofitel Beachfront Stage. There were two stages for six bands from Europe, South America,
andagroupofThaijazzmusicians.BothstageswereonthebeachinfrontoftheSofitelCentralHotelandthe
Hilton Hua Hin Hotel. We loved to join both shows, but we had very short time in Hua Hin.
The jazz that evening was great. And I will never forget it.
