Contents
Following two decades as a leading sterling silver jewelry designer, Cynthia Gale continues her passion for unique
design and further develops her discerning eye for the creative arts. In 1991, while on a modeling trip to the Indone-
sian island of Bali, Cynthia was inspired by the fine craft of the many silversmiths she encountered and the diverse
culture of this magical paradise to launch her first collection, GeoArt by Cynthia Gale. A cultured entrepreneur and
trend setting designer from the start, her jewelry and gift collections over the past twenty years have combined both
her New York City fast paced urban eclectic lifestyle with her enduring love of the serene and tranquil beauty of the
Far East with its exquisite hand crafted artisanal sterling silver objets d’art.
Today, she has rebranded her company into simply, Cynthia Gale New York. Whether Cynthia is creatively inspired by
an ancient Greek rhyton in designing one of her unique Signature Collections, working with her many museum and
foundation partners in developing her licensed Museum Collections, or continuing to design her modern and global
inspired GeoArt Collections, Cynthia strives to design and produce timeless pieces of jewelry and custom gifts that
can be cherished for many years to come.
Product Development is a primary element of Cynthia Gale’s ongoing design business. The company’s many proj-
ects include an art inspired objet d’art for The J. Paul Getty Museum, partnerships with major art museums and
foundations across the United States, upscale corporate gifts for high profile clients such as the National Basketball
Association, bookmarks for Barnes and Noble and promotional jewelry for Miss America in collaboration with Am-
way Global.
For Cynthia, design is a personal expression of individual art with each piece reflecting a heritage culture, time hon-
ored history, or a spiritual journey message.
Repousse is the time honored Indonesian
metalwork technique utilized as a corner-
stone of Cynthia Gale’s product development.
Our Javanese artisans work out of wooden
logs, which are then turned on end, hollowed
out, and filled with a black sticky pitch. Sterling
silver sheet is then carefully laid in the pitch
and a relief is hammered from the back of the
piece to form the singular dimensional shape.
The finished piece is then chased from the
front to sharpen the design before oxidation
is applied to add depth and texture by dark-
ening recessed areas within the design. The
final surface is polished to a resplendent high
sheen to emphasize the line, form and detail.

In 1992, Cynthia Gale was exploring the silver
workshops in Yogyakarta, Indonesia when she
ran across a uniquely interesting ring within a
ring. She loved the meditative quality it held as
the wearer turned the ring’s outer band when
worn. Captivated by the ring’s distinct contem-
plative qualities, she updated and redesigned
the ring, adding individual artistic embellish-
ments and metalwork techniques unique to In-
donesia. Today, more than twenty years later,
the original CG Signature spinning ring contin-
ues to capture the magical and mystical allure
of personal reflection, meditation, and relax-
ation.

From native New Yorkers to tourists, a memo-
rable gift inspired by the Big Apple will be trea-
sured by friends, family and colleagues. Cynthia
Gale collaborated with two of the city’s most
iconic cultural institutions, The New York His-
torical Society and The New York Transit Mu-
seum, to create distinctive jewelry collections
which successfully capture the cultural diversi-
ty and towering sky scrapers of New York City.

Throughout the life of the company, giving
back to causes that are important to her has
been an important part of Cynthia Gale’s mis-
sion. A portion of the proceeds of each origi-
nal Cynthia Gale art inspired design goes to the
museum or cultural institution it was created in
collaboration with to support the organization’s
cultural mission. In addition, Asian Elephant
Art and Conservation Project, Design Industries
Foundation Fighting AIDS, Shoe4Africa and
Jewelers for Veterans are some of the organiza-
tions which Cynthia Gale New York has recently
engaged with and donated to. Giving back to
both the national and international community
has been a guiding principle of our design ef-
forts since the company’s establishment in 1991.

  • 6. Repousse is the time honored Indonesian metalwork technique utilized as a corner- stone of Cynthia Gale’s product development. Our Javanese artisans work out of wooden logs, which are then turned on end, hollowed out, and filled with a black sticky pitch. Sterling silver sheet is then carefully laid in the pitch and a relief is hammered from the back of the piece to form the singular dimensional shape. The finished piece is then chased from the front to sharpen the design before oxidation is applied to add depth and texture by dark- ening recessed areas within the design. The final surface is polished to a resplendent high sheen to emphasize the line, form and detail. Repousse: A Signature Technique 6

  • 10. In 1992, Cynthia Gale was exploring the silver workshops in Yogyakarta, Indonesia when she ran across a uniquely interesting ring within a ring. She loved the meditative quality it held as the wearer turned the ring’s outer band when worn. Captivated by the ring’s distinct contem- plative qualities, she updated and redesigned the ring, adding individual artistic embellish- ments and metalwork techniques unique to In- donesia. Today, more than twenty years later, the original CG Signature spinning ring contin- ues to capture the magical and mystical allure of personal reflection, meditation, and relax- ation.
