The project will be carried out throughout the semester where students will be assigned to measure and document a historical / architecturally significant or heritage building and translate all the data into a set of drawings. Each group will have to only measure one particular building assigned by the course coordinator.

De nombre ninguno.poemas escritos por Edgardo Ovando

DE NOMBRE NINGUNO Es tentador ver en “De Nombre Ninguno” un producto de la disonancia cognitiva que Edgardo Ovando debió haber sentido por la desconexión, producida, entre la aparente realidad de un país cuya imagen pública, supuestamente, "alegre", de post dictadura se hacía disonante, en su fuero interno, con los primeros años del retorno a la democracia. A raíz de esa vibración disonante es que, nunca tendremos una comprensión real de las, invisibles, personas que está detrás de este texto. Nunca llegamos a verlos y entenderlos completamente y viceversa. Si no que, se encuentran y nos encontramos a oscuras, y, en algunos casos, son/somos las sombras mismas de las sombras. Estos personajes, se nos presentan, descifrando sus ocultos enigmas de existencia: Seres abandonados, desechos de la sociedad, profundamente misteriosos y, al mismo tiempo, comunes y corrientes. Todo pareciera que no es más que una ilusión inserta en una realidad la cual nadie desea ver. El autor lleno de pasión, se sumerge en ellos, conoce sus realidades ocultas y va descubriendo, en ese espacio: su propia liberación sexual a través de prostitutas en la subida Ecuador o topleteras en “Lo Devi” ambas en Valparaíso, también es ladrón de libros en San Diego o presenta a la actriz Daniela Tobar con su performance La Casa de Vidrio…etc…. De esta manera, provoca que, toda su turbulencia psíquica y emocional que estaba experimentando fuera sublimada, afortunadamente, para nosotros y los lectores, a través su trabajo poético. Escoge seres invisibles a la sociedad exitista, clasista y capitalista con los que transitamos los versos. Nos presenta, ya sea con una nostálgica sonrisa o furiosa rabia a: Ladrones, cafiches, prostitutas incógnitas adictos, psicópatas, okupas, anarkistas, transexuales...etc. Los cuales, son quienes nos abren la puerta de escape a la otra realidad. El autor, advirtió, seguramente, al poco de andar de los nuevos aires democráticos que él y otros tantos artistas, de diversas áreas, nunca llegaría el escenario de la reivindicación y el reconocimiento. Por lo que seguirían siendo, los mismos seres anónimos de siempre. Esa rabia se manifiesta en la forma desgarrada y a veces violenta, en que muchos de los versos se estructuran como diálogos internos, con múltiples nostálgicas líneas vocales de enclavamiento y, a veces, burlándose de los paladines de la nueva democracia, que, por decir lo menos, desconciertan a quienes creyeron construir, de buena fe, una nueva sociedad. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction. This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024 Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error. Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials. This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
