Manal al-Sharif is a computer scientist and activist from Mecca, Saudi Arabia. She is single and was born in 1979. She defied prejudiced ideas about women's rights in Saudi Arabia by daring to drive a car, which was an important step toward greater liberty. As a technology professional, she has also advocated for women's rights and empowerment through public speaking at conferences. She started a campaign in 2011 to encourage more Saudi women to drive cars despite the ban, and her petition was successful in getting the ban lifted.

“ I have a dream “. Martin Luther King Jr. bravely said those words without saying
the word “courage”, and he gave people the strength to say the words in their heart,
and he started a new chapter of civil right for all of us . Do we have the guts to be
like those few people whom are willing to stand out for everyone? How many times
we swallow the words we want to say over and over until our stomachs are full?
We always ask for courage, but it isn’t hard to find. Courage is saying the word that
you want to say without fears; it gives us a beginning, a solution, and a ending.
Courage is saying “Hi”. Back to the time when we were starting curious about
love. There was one day we were sitting on our seats like usual and there was a
note passed from a cute guy who sat at the right corner of the room then we
noticed that he wrote something for us in the note: “Hi”. He made a breakthrough
to start the conversation and he wasn’t afraid to be rejected by you, he had courage.
Not just about love, It’s also scary to welcome a new life. To be a mother, we have
to wait for nearly ten months to give birth for our children, then the first thing she
says to the baby “ Hi, your going to make me broke”, “ Hi, I’m going to lose my
sleeping time to change your diaper and comfort you”, and “ Hi, I’m ready to take
the challenges and give you all my love”. When we become parents It ‘s also a
commitment to our children. Making a promise like that is scary, but you can start
with saying “Hi”, without fears.
Courage is saying “can”. I was one of those people who doesn’t like to be helped.
But something changed that; new environment, new culture, and new me. I left my
country when I was just about to turn eighteen. I was just a little bird that just
learn how to fly. Then I got here and started a brand new life or I should called it a
brand new challenge. On my first semester I failed on one of my class, Greek
mythology. That was not a easy class for international students. What professor
said in the class was like listening to a baby talking. I knew what my problems was
but I was afraid to ask for help and I didn’t believe myself that I could do it. I cried
on the day I saw that ugly F on my transcript. For a while I was like a bird flying in
the sky but lost the direction. Nevertheless, I faced a lot of obstacles when I was
learning to fly, but those difficulties taught me to use the word “can” . “I can do it”
this sentence helped me to spread my wings and fly again. “ Can I borrow the note
from you? “ this helped me to passed the biggest barrier on my second semester. I
use the word to find the solution for myself and crash the high wall of my pride. I
had courage.
Courage is saying “ goodbye”. It was a day like any other day for my grandma
until she lost one of the less things that could makes her.

Breaking through the Barriers
Throughout history, women have fought for equal treatment and rights. In Egypt, significant progress has been made, with women now commonly attending university. However, traditional views still persist in some communities, where women face harassment and the expectation that their primary roles are in the home. Overall though, Egyptian women today are well-educated and participate fully in the workforce across many fields, with equal pay and opportunities, demonstrating that women have rightfully earned their place in society.

Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela was born in 1918 in South Africa. He studied law at Fort Hare University and joined the African National Congress in 1944. He fought against South Africa's apartheid policies and spent 27 years in prison. Mandela considered himself a fighter who stood up for what he believed in. He hoped to inspire others to fight for their dreams no matter the obstacles. Mandela was elected president of South Africa in 1994 after negotiations to end apartheid. He won the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize for promoting a peaceful end to apartheid and democratic South Africa.
Aristides de sousa mendes
Aristides de Sousa Mendes was a Portuguese diplomat born in 1885 who studied law. During World War II, he served as consul in Bordeaux, France. Against the orders of the Portuguese dictatorship, he issued visas to thousands of refugees fleeing the Nazis, saving their lives. Although he performed great deeds in saving people, he suffered consequences after the war ended and died in poverty. He is now recognized as a hero in Portugal for his brave and humanitarian actions during the war.

Anne frank
Anne Frank was born in Germany in 1929 and raised in Amsterdam. In 1942, during World War 2 and the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, Anne and her family went into hiding in the back of her father's building to escape persecution of Jews. Anne recorded their daily lives in hiding in her diary. In 1944 they were discovered by the Gestapo and arrested. Anne died in a concentration camp at age 15 in 1945. Her diary was published after the war and has become a symbol of the Holocaust.

- 3. Manal al-Sharif My Journey By Manal al-Sharif (Albums) * Updated 1 day ago In June 17th, 2011, I started a campaign to get as many women as possible to get behind the wheel and drive. The first time I felt that I could change the world with my story was when I spoke in the Oslo Freedom Forum. I finally felt recognized, at least by the western culture. Me and my son Aboody, who has also faced many adversities throughout this process. But his support has been unconditional! One of the best moments in my life: sharing my experience with people in such a broad platform like TEDxTalks and showing them that women can also do amazing things and take control of their lives. The campaign was able to make an effective change the Arabian society, as the Council has accepted my petition to lift the driving ban for women.
