35. Blueseed plans to seastead near Silicon Valley in a ship employing established maritime firms
to handle the logistical details of offering living and office space at prices comparable to what
entrepreneurs would pay for an apartment and office in Silicon Valley, high-speed fixed
wireless connection with a satellite backup, and regular ferry service to the mainland to allow
the seastead to act as an entrepreneurial incubator. The existence of the project is due to the
difficulty organizations face obtaining H1-B visas and the relatively much easier to obtain B-1
visa. Blueseed founders Max Marty and Dario Mutabdzija met when both were employees of
the Seasteading Institute
43. • The buzz around Poseidon Undersea Resorts has been
around for a few years now (c.f. our 2007 report on the
conceptually-similar Hydropolis in Dubai). Poseidon Resorts
has announced that it has completed the design and
engineering of structural works, indicating that the sci fi-
esque undersea project is closer to getting off the ground,
or better, into a lagoon on a private island in Fiji. The
company is now working to secure capital for construction,
which should take two years to complete, it says.

engineering challenge will allow guests to get a true taste for the peace and beauty
of underwater life, USD$5500 per night for a room.

58. Integrating e-Gov with Sus. Dev. – Green IT [3]
Green IT is a term made up of ‘Green’ meaning the environment and information ‘technology.’ It
refers to the transition toward a low-carbon society by reducing energy consumption in various IT
devices (Green of IT) and using them in an eco-friendly way (Green by IT)
With the use of IT, a 15% reduction (7.8 billion tons) in the world’s carbon emissions is possible by
2020 (GeSI, 2008)
