COSSPP is home to 16 departments and interdisciplinary programs and 11 centers and institutes and serves as the third largest College at FSU, helping more than 5,000 students each year along their academic journeys. Our 50,000+ alumni work around the globe to address the world’s challenges and to better their communities. To support this work, I run an internship program within our College and provide on-the-job learning opportunities to FSU students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our students develop skills critical for workplace readiness and leave with comprehensive portfolios showcasing their writing, design, photography, and project management skills.

earned her Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism from Florida A&M

Steve Murray is the Communications Director of the Florida Department of
Veterans’Affairs in Tallahassee, Fla. The retired Air Force lieutenant colonel
provides oversight and direction of the department’s comprehensive
public affairs program of community outreach, media relations and employee
communications impacting Florida’s 1.6 million veterans, their family members and
survivors. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism with honors
from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss. and has a Master of
Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.

Chief Operating Officer, Ron Sachs Communications
A respected communications professional with 14 years of public
relations agency management experience and 14 years of senior-level
service for state government agencies, Michelle Ubben has developed
award-winning campaigns to promote public adoption and prevent child abuse and
brand companies, organizations and causes. She has directed communications for the
Departments of Children and Families, Health and Rehabilitative Services, Agriculture
and Consumer Services, Insurance and the Florida Senate. She also was a reporter for
the Orlando Sentinel and has taught speechwriting at Florida State University.
