Just a quick “heads up” so you can see where you are up to in the trainingThis slide shows how the course tracks through the seven basic areas required by the unit standards and qualification.You need to complete the Task 1 Assessment which relates to understanding the context of literacy and numeracy in Aotearoa New Zealand. You can NZ in the green box at the lower left hand side of the screen in the 5 o’clock position.This task lays a foundation for the rest of the training and leads into “knowing the demands” phase that you can see in the triangle in the centre.
Shift happens: This course is about shifting you... shifting your professional practice as a trainer and a tutor
This course is about making the process of focussing on literacy and numeracy more explicit, self-conscious, planned, deliberate, and systematic.
We’ll give you a framework for embedding literacy and numeracy

This assessment is all about the context for adult literacy and numeracy in Aotearoa New Zealand

The four current definitions that we use in NZ at the moment
Two reasons for low levels of adult literacy and numeracy

And two resources that relate to your learners. This can include specialist organisations... like ALEC for example
You need to:
