100 Series Gliding Windows

This light commercial office building is set in the urban
outskirts of Mason City and was added on to the back side of
an existing strip of office buildings. The existing building used
dark bronze aluminum clad windows with stained pine interior.

The architect chose Andersen® 100 Series windows for this
addition because he recently read about them in a trade
magazine. He was interested in the sustainability factor of the
Fibrex® material. He also wanted a low-maintenance interior.
A window with a drywall return was the perfect fit in this
application. SmartSun™ glass was used in all units.

100 Series Single-Hung Windows

St. Therese of Glen Lake is a senior apartment complex
in a Minneapolis suburb. The project got underway in
November 2010 going into one of Minnesota’s snowiest
winters on record. The contractor, Frana Construction,
installed the 100 series product into panelized wall
sections without a hitch.

The architect and contractor chose Andersen® 100 Series
single-hung windows for their smooth operation, sustainable
Fibrex® material, pre-finished interiors and competitive price
point. Sustainability is a core value for UrbanWorks, the
project architect, and the Fibrex material’s reclaimed wood
fiber content made 100 Series windows more attractive to
the owner than hollow vinyl competitors.

Multi-Family Replacement

Apartment Complex
St. Louis Park, MN

In-Law Construction

100 Series Gliding Windows
100 Series Single-Hung Windows

This project consisted of 3 apartment buildings, built in the
1950’s that had dark aluminum windows. The apartment
layouts were relatively small with overall square footage ranging
from 950-1100 per apartment.

Andersen® 100 Series windows were selected for this
replacement project because of the custom capability as well
as Cocoa Bean exterior color option. There were single-hungs,
gliding windows as well as fixed units used. A key benefit
that the property owner saw in this product was the white
interior finish that opened up the living space in these small
apartments and made them seem bigger than they really were
in comparison to the dark aluminum windows of the past. In
addition, Andersen 2" brick mould trim in matching Cocoa
Bean was applied to the exterior of all the units.

This apartment building located just off campus in the
Dinkytown area of the University of Minnesota was Doran
Construction’s first venture into student apartments. The
popular fully furnished apartments were fully leased out
before construction was finished in August 2010.

Doran and ESG Architects chose Andersen® 100 Series
windows for this, their first Dinkytown apartment project, for
the same reasons they selected 100 Series windows again
for the 412 Lofts Apartments: design flexibility, great exterior
colors, thermal performance, sustainable Fibrex® material,
installed dealer solution and competitive price value.
