Fruits of Generosity for a master of Giving
There are many ways
we can do charity.
Acts of generosity are
most praiseworthy.
The more

the more
we’ll lessen Dukkha.
One who is generous
is loved by many.
He is also much more
peaceful and happy.
Serve selflessly
with true commitment.
You’ll be blessed with
peace and contentment.
Dana is an essential
spiritual practice
in one’s quest for inner
mental peace and bliss.

by what we get, but
we make a life by
what we give.”

Backsliding will bring regret and dukkha to say the least.

DESIRE AVERSION DELUSION FEAR
When there’s
craving and
clinging,
there will be
much suffering.
When there is
anger, ill-will
and hate,
you’ll be heading
for a woeful state.
When there is this
delusion of an ‘I’,
you’ll experience
many a
painful sigh.
When there’s
ignorance there
arises fear.
Your mind turns
painful, confused
and unclear.
THROUGH CONSTANT MINDFULNESS OF THE DHAMMA,
you’ll not become lost and face great dukkha.

Virtue is the base for the Spiritual Path.
May Wisdom and Compassion grow in the heart.
Men of wisdom, virtue
and simplicity
are more worthy than
those of hypocrisy.
One can age
more gracefully
if he has lived
righteously.
We have to be mindful of
speech, action and mind.
If we’re heedless, they’ll
bring us much painful time.
Gratitude we
must all
practice well.
This noble
virtue parents
must tell.
When one is
egoistic and
heedless,
he will not
attain peace
and
happiness.

It is important to heed the advice of the wise.
Foolish ones will meet with pain for their actions of vice.
“Sandalwood, tagara, lotus,
jasmine - the fragrance of
virtue is unrivalled by such
kinds of perfume.”
Time goes one way,
zooming by so very quickly.
Do we all use it
meaningfully and wisely?
We must practice Right
Effort most patiently.
The mind will develop
to see things clearly.
May there be purity in our
mind, speech and body.
Then our compassion and
wisdom will grow certainly.
The mental poisons of greed,
hatred and delusion
obstruct our Path to joy,
peace, bliss & liberation.
The generous, mindful and
contented ones are wise.
With these virtues they will soon
end sorrow, pain and cries.

Be humble and respect
all others well.
Your character, speech
and action will tell.
The practice of Dana, Sila
and Bhavana
will lead you to end all
suffering or Dukkha.
To walk the spiritual path
to Nibbana,
cultivate Metta, Karuna
and Panna.
To help is noble,
to forgive divine.
We need to practice this
well all the time.
When Dukkha, Anicca
and Anatta are realized,
you’ll certainly abide in
Nibbanic Paradise.

REFLECTIONS ON PROVERBS AROUND THE WORLD
The eyes of all cheats are full of
tears. Bosnian Proverb
A deed of unwholesome Kamma
will lead one to lots of Dukkha.
Clear conscience never fears
midnight knocking.
Chinese Proverb
Do good, avoid evil, purify the mind.
You will have joy and peace of the highest kind.
There are a thousand paths to
every wrong.

and keep the mind strong.
To talk without thinking is to shoot
without aiming. English Proverb

it is a shoot. Malaysian Proverb
From young there must be proper moral learning.
One lacking in Virtue will face suffering.
Wait until night before saying it has
been a fine day. French Proverb
The only Certainty is Uncertainty.
Wise ones embrace whatever comes peacefully.
An ant on the move does more than
a dozing ox. Mexican Proverb
Beware of Sloth and Mental Laziness.
This will hinder your Path to Happiness.
To him that watches, everything is
revealed. Italian Proverb
Always be watchful, heedful and mindful.

MY
THOUGHTS
FOR
REFLECTION
One most important
matter
is to change
for the better
Patience is a great
virtue indeed.
Today patience we
most truly need.
When we are
kind and wise,
we will see Paradise.
True Friendship is
a Treasure
that is far beyond
measure.
The greater the mind
has contentment,
the closer you're to
Enlightenment.
Walk The Middle
Path with
Determination.
Like Buddha you too
will get liberation.
Peace develops with
less expectation;
be present, be
aware, pay attention
A settled mind
thinks much
more clearly;
problems are then
solved more easily.
Upon a good and wise thought in the mind,
reflect mindfully for moments of time.
Aspire to actualize that thought line.

Do not despise, do not hurt, be

WISE WORDS OF AJAHN CHAH
Happiness and suffering do not depend
on being poor or rich, they depend on
having the right or wrong understanding
in our mind.
Wisdom is in
yourself, just like a
sweet ripe mango
is already in a
young green one.
If you want a
chicken to be a
duck, and a duck to
be a chicken, you
will suffer.
If you see certainty in that
which is uncertain, you are
bound to suffer.
The Dhamma is
revealing itself in
every moment, but
only when the mind
is quiet can we
understand what it is
saying, for the
Dhamma teaches
without words.
If you let go a little
you will have a little
happiness. If you
let go a lot you will
have a lot of
happiness. If you
let go completely
you will be free.
There is so much we can learn from a truly spiritual being
His Sila, Samadhi and Panna excel – Dhamma he has seen.

Life can be really hard, it
can be quite rough.
At such times, Dhamma
helps us to remain tough.
Unfortunate things can
happen to us all.
Wise ones acknowledge
this and learn
from each fall.
Pleasure & pain, loss &
gain, praise & blame,
honor & ill-fame
are 8 worldly winds
that blow upon us
again and again.
Remember to treasure the
Dhamma you learn in life.
It’ll certainly help you to get

To see things as they truly are is wisdom.

If you lie or act fake,
you’ll soon suffer defeat.
It is very important
to speak with kindness.
For yourself and others
there’ll be then peacefulness.
Do not dwell in the past or worry
about what is coming.
Take care of the present, this is
what counts for any Blessing.

Then you will have much less pain and cries.

  • 1. Siha Sutta (On Generosity) … Anguttara 5.34 Fruits of Generosity for a master of Giving There are many ways we can do charity. Acts of generosity are most praiseworthy. The more we practice Dana, the more we’ll lessen Dukkha. One who is generous is loved by many. He is also much more peaceful and happy. Serve selflessly with true commitment. You’ll be blessed with peace and contentment. Dana is an essential spiritual practice in one’s quest for inner mental peace and bliss. “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” Winston Churchill Wise Words Of Worth 3 Speak words that are useful, harmonious, kind and truthful. This is a MUST to be well-liked, happy and peaceful. Reach out to the helpless, needy and suffering. This brings peace and uplifts your spiritual being. Count your Blessings, you are so very lucky! Many out there are poor, they’re in misery. Have you truly given or forgiven today? It will make another happier needless to say. My ego, my temper I must check mindfully. These defilements lead one to untold misery. Lead a life of simplicity. You’ll be more peaceful and happy. 5 Qualities A Mendicant / Bhikkhu dwells happily in this very life and the next life. Dukkha Sutta : Anguttara 5.3 1 Faith 2 Conscience 3 Prudence 4 Energy 5 Wisdom Faith or Confidence in Pali is Saddha. Refuge in the Triple Gem helps stop Dukkha. We need to know what is wholesome and what is not. Unwholesome deeds will lead us to suffer a lot. Live life with caution, heedfulness and mindfulness. Only then will we have mental peacefulness. Be ardent and energetic in Dhamma Practice. You will stand to gain so much joy, happiness and peace. How can stillness and wisdom arise in our mind if we do not practice the Dhamma all the time? We don’t meditate to see heaven, but to end suffering. Ajahn Chah May we cross the Sea of Samsara with Sila, Samadhi and Panna Have Faith and Confidence in The Triple Gem # 1 Thinking, regretting or feeling guilty about the past. Reflection Train the mind to be more mindful of the Present. # 2 Speculating and worrying about things in the Future. Reflection Watch the mind when it runs into the Future. Bring it back. # 3 Thinking of and seeing only faults of another and failing to see his good. Reflection In every ‘bad’ person there is some good and in every ‘good’ person there is some bad. # 4 Reacting negatively to the criticisms or words of others. Reflection Why should one let others control one’s inner mental peace? # 5 Thinking of and dwelling upon one’s mistakes or points of weakness. Reflection Acknowledge the mistakes, learn from them and move on. Let go of the negative thoughts. # 6 Expecting only positive things to happen all the time. Reflection Gain & loss, pleasure & pain, praise & blame, fame & dishonor are inevitable. Muddled Thinking, Much Suffering 1 DO LESS USELESS THINKING Pay more attention to watching your mind. DO LESS CONTROLLING Pay more attention to letting go. Do less acquiring Pay more attention to Giving DO LESS COMPLAINING Pay more attention to counting your Blessings DO LESS CRITICIZING Pay more attention to complementing. DO LESS ARGUING, Pay more attention to forgiveness. DO LESS 1 DO LESS 1 3-Word Wisdom – Reflections 1 Be Here Now Train the mind to be with the moment. Arising is peaceful contentment. Harm not another being. Arising is peace within. So powerful indeed is Loving-Kindness. It brings to oneself and others happiness. Generosity cuts the Ego. You will sail more smoothly in Life’s Flow. Being grateful uplifts the mind. There’s spiritual joy so sublime. Solitude arouses spirituality. Insights can arise in the serenity.

  • 7. 1 The more the expectation there is, the greater will be the ‘STRESS Dis-ease’. A relationship can soon come to an end when there’s EGO and bad ATTITUDE, my friend. It is NOT by CHANCE your life gets better. It is positive CHANGE that will matter. Giving, Morality, Meditating… That is the Way to attain Peace within. WISDOM WORDS One having self- restraint, right thought and calmness is strong. These qualities are praiseworthy that CANNOT be wrong. Beautiful faces are everywhere. Beautiful hearts are rare here or there. Think good thoughts, say kind words, do skillful things. You reap what you sow…realize what this means. Happy people focus on every Blessing. Unhappy people focus on what’s missing. Grow Panna, Spread Metta When Compassion & Wisdom reach Perfection, the Mind attains full Bliss and Liberation What matters in life ultimately is the Dhamma realized mindfully. 100 Instagram 2.indd 1 2/25/2019 1:01:35 PM
  • 8. 2 5 Great Gifts That Cost Nothing Dhamma Teaching & Sharing Metta – Giving Loving-Kindness Listening Lending an ear to one in sorrow Kind Words Touching another with kind speech Reaching Out Rendering help to the Needy May you realize this wonderful thing: ‘There is real joy in sincere giving.’ SPREAD METTA With Metta, Bro. Oh Listening With Compassion Kind Words Are Sweet Speak Kindly Speak Gently Speak With Love Dana or Giving is a great spiritual practice. It helps cut the Ego and bring joy and mental peace. 100 Instagram 2.indd 2 2/25/2019 1:01:36 PM
  • 9. 3 When Sila or Morality is well practiced, here and hereafter you’ll have happiness and peace. Precepts are moral training Rules of a Buddhist. A lay Buddhist observes the 5 Precepts of No Killing, No Stealing, No Sexual Misconduct, No Lying & No Intoxicants Benefits of Upholding Precepts (Digha Nikaya 16) 1 Maintaining Wealth Not squandering away wealth 2 Good Reputation Highly regarded by others 3 No Fear to face assemblies; no cause for shame or guilt 4 Dies with a clear mind; moral purity gives joy and confidence 5 Good Rebirth; Will not fall into woeful realms Sandalwood, lavender, lotus and jasmine separate odors. Of all these varieties of scents, the wonderful fragrance of virtue is the most exalted scent. This is because the smell of virtue is always advantageous. Dhammapada 55 100 Instagram 2.indd 3 2/25/2019 1:01:37 PM
  • 10. 4 Of the greatest importance is mental development. This’ll lead us to end all Dukkha upon Enlightenment. 1 Chanda : Liking / Interest / Wish / Desire to act 2 Citta : Contemplation / Thought 3 Viriya : Energy / Effort 4 Vimansa : Insightful Investigation Iddhipada : The 4 bases of mental / spiritual power My Dhamma Couplets …Reflection 1 “A strong interest or liking for the Dhamma is a Blessing. This is needed to develop states of peace and well-being.” 2 “It’s Noble to carry out Dhamma contemplation. It helps pave the Way to peace, bliss and liberation.” 3 “Wise is the man who exerts energy in Dhamma practice. Such effort will reap rewards, he will attain joy, peace and bliss.” 4 “Dana, Sila, Bhavana and Vimansa will lead us to cross the Sea of Samsara.” 100 Instagram 2.indd 4 2/25/2019 1:01:38 PM
  • 11. 5 Be heedful that you do not backslide in Dhamma practice. Backsliding will bring regret and dukkha to say the least. Agati Sutta Anguttara 4.19 Off Course in One’s Dhamma Practice DESIRE AVERSION DELUSION FEAR When there’s craving and clinging, there will be much suffering. When there is anger, ill-will and hate, you’ll be heading for a woeful state. When there is this delusion of an ‘I’, you’ll experience many a painful sigh. When there’s ignorance there arises fear. Your mind turns painful, confused and unclear. THROUGH CONSTANT MINDFULNESS OF THE DHAMMA, you’ll not become lost and face great dukkha. 100 Instagram 2.indd 5 2/25/2019 1:01:38 PM
