This document outlines the duties and responsibilities of lifting supervisors for a private highway project in Malaysia. The lifting supervisors are responsible for: (1) monitoring lifting operations to ensure they are carried out safely and in compliance with approved plans; (2) briefing lifting crews on plans and ensuring understanding before lifts; and (3) day-to-day management and coordination of lifting operations, including meetings for lifts using multiple cranes. They must also check contractor competencies and appointments, and monitor safe execution of lifts according to the Crane Lift Plan.
Every year many minor and unnecessary incidents occur due to negligent and unwise use of in-house transport equipment. This information poster was developed to remind users, in an easy-to-follow way, how to work safely with electric pallet trucks.

This document provides guidance on the safe operation of a Hydra crane. It outlines proper procedures for marching with and without loads, including maintaining slow speeds, full boom retraction, and load stability. It emphasizes the importance of understanding load capacities and ensuring the load's center of gravity is properly positioned. Operators are instructed to lift within the crane's capacity, avoid unsuitable terrain, and not use the crane for inappropriate tasks like dragging. The document stresses the role of trained operators and helpers in preventing accidents.
This document provides 25 tips for safely operating forklift trucks. Some key points covered include only allowing authorized and trained operators, inspecting the forklift before use, driving only in designated areas, maintaining a safe distance from loading areas, securing abnormal loads properly, wearing a seatbelt if the forklift has an open cab, and not overloading the forklift. The poster encourages following the tips to reduce accidents and injuries from incorrect forklift use.

The document provides guidelines for riggers on safely lifting loads. It outlines the responsibilities of riggers, which include being physically fit, trained in lifting equipment, able to properly signal crane operators, and understand load placement for safety. Riggers must understand lifting tackle certification and color coding. They must also inspect lifting gear, like slings and shackles, and ensure equipment markings are present and legible. Proper hitches and safety precautions during lifts are also covered.
Forklift trucks are for carrying loads only, and should never carry people. There is a reason there is only one seat, and that's for the forklift operator only. No passengers!
Additions such as fork extension and man basket or any modification to the forklift can affect the load capacity and safe operation of the truck. The forklift manufacturer prohibits such addition or alteration unless they allow it so. The manufacturer can write an approval to the customer or user permitting such addition.
Now in the event OSHA inspector visited your site premise and cited violation on the use of the man cage, the inspector wants you to produce documented evidence that the forklift to be fitted with man cage has a written approval from the manufacturer, aside from the record that such training has been supplied to the workers for the proper use of the work platform.
This is the common mistake the users commit when buying a man basket. They fail to contact the forklift manufacturer to secure written approval.

Major causes of crane accidents include contact with power lines, overturns, falls, and mechanical failures. Accidents commonly occur due to lack of communication between the operator and others involved in the lift, lack of training, instability of the load or ground, and inadequate maintenance or inspection. Proper planning, training, inspection, and following safety procedures can help prevent crane accidents.

Working around heavy equipment can be extremely dangerous. Too many workers are killed each year when they are run over or struck by these pieces of machinery. It’s important to know the safety precautions to take when working in the vicinity of heavy equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, cranes, Excavator, Bob Cat, Forklift, Concrete Mixture Truck, other heavy trucks/Equipment's, etc.
This document discusses lifting safety and provides information on various types of lifting equipment. It defines lifting equipment as any work equipment used for lifting and lowering loads, including accessories. Examples of lifting equipment include overhead cranes, hoists, lifts, and slings. The document also discusses chain hoists in detail, outlining the main types (differential, lever ratchet, hand), components, inspection procedures, and safety factors. Annual inspections of lifting equipment are recommended to check for wear, damage, and safety.
