When the police arrive, they find Peter with the gun and arrest him, while the real killer Griggs escapes.
Driving Pump Reliability Forward In Refineries With Advanced Composite Wear R...Ken Holmes
In 2003, a refinery began a program to apply advanced composite wear rings, line shaft bearings, and related components. By September 2006, the program had expanded to 61 pumps, at which point plant personnel quantified results. The reliability impact of the program was evaluated using pump repair history, vibration records, and mechanical seal emissions data.
Results indicate that the program has been successful. Failures within the subject population decreased by 45%, overall vibration levels fell by an average of 25%, and mechanical seal emissions failures (for pumps subject to testing) dropped by 70%. These results suggest that proper application of composite materials can lead to improved reliability, and should be one of the options considered by plants seeking to increase their pump life.
The document discusses the implementation of a process improvement and customer service program called FOCUS UGA at the University of Georgia. FOCUS UGA aims to enable students, faculty and staff to achieve their full potential through rigorous process management methodologies. It will take a customized approach using tools like Lean Six Sigma, the balanced scorecard and process improvement cycles. A steering committee and owners group will oversee projects to improve administrative and student services across the university.

It covers how page speed is a ranking factor for Google, and how to measure page speed using tools from Google Analytics and PageSpeed Insights. It also provides tips for optimizing database queries, web servers, caching, and investigating alternative technologies to improve site speed.
