Our film distribution company is called 'A! PRODUCTION'. We have chosen to make our film a mainstream production to attract a wider audience and utilize experienced post-production staff and better equipment. We feel our film's distributors should be Focus Films and Revolver Entertainments as they have experience with our genre and have distributed similar successful London-based films. Our distribution company will specialize in independently made urban films based in London that may portray gangs and criminals.
Here is a draft section on film festivals:
Film festivals can be another important avenue for independent films seeking distribution. Some key festivals to consider include:
- Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) - One of the largest public film festivals in the world, held annually in Toronto, Canada. TIFF is a major launching point for Oscar contenders and international titles seeking North American distribution. Screening at TIFF can help generate buzz and interest from distributors.
- Sundance Film Festival - The largest independent film festival in the U.S., held annually in Park City, Utah. Sundance premieres both American and international independent films. Landing a slot at Sundance is highly competitive but can lead to acquisition deals, as many distributors
The Lion King (2019) was directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It had a budget of $260 million, higher than the originally planned $250 million. The film was distributed through teaser trailers, posters, featurettes, and sneak peeks starting in late 2018. It had its Hollywood premiere on July 9, 2019 and was then widely released in the United States.
Working Title Films is a British film production company founded in 1983 that produces feature films and television productions. They aim to produce 5-10 films per year with budgets between $30-40 million each. Their most well known film is Les Misérables, directed by Tom Hooper, which had a budget of $61 million and grossed $379 million at the box offices. Hooper had the actors sing live on set instead of pre-recording their songs to add realism. Les Misérables was filmed on location in the UK and France between March-June 2012.

Other discussed marketing techniques include premiering in multiple cities, viral games to promote films like Bourne, and using trailers or actors to generate buzz. The document also outlines the genre of Bond films as action and the production company Eon Productions.
This document discusses that a large studio like Warner Brothers would be best suited to produce and distribute a movie similar in genre and budget to the one described. Warner Brothers makes big budget action and adventure films for worldwide audiences of males ages 15-30. They could market and distribute the movie globally in theaters and on home video/streaming platforms to maximize profits, just as they did for movies like The Dark Knight Rises.
The document discusses two potential film studios, Lionsgate and New Line Cinema, that could distribute the author's film project. For Lionsgate, the author notes that it has successfully distributed similar cult films like American Psycho. New Line Cinema is also presented as a good fit given its success with horror cult classics like A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre that have similar storylines to the author's film. Both studios are assessed as being able to help make the author's film a cult classic through their experience and promotion of similar niche films.

Entertainment Film Distributors would be the most suitable company to distribute my film. As a British distributor of independent films in the UK and Ireland, they specialize in backing newcomers and low-budget films. They have distributed several romantic comedies, the genre of my film, including Run Fatboy Run, 17 Again, and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Their experience distributing popular romantic comedies in this genre would help ensure wide exposure for my film. Other companies like Momentum Pictures and Artificial Eye were less suitable - Momentum does not work with many low-budget projects and Artificial Eye focuses on art house and foreign films instead of my genre.
Straight Outta Compton and I, Daniel BlakeAshton Parker
Universal Pictures and Legendary Entertainment co-produced and co-financed Straight Outta Compton, which had a $28 million production budget. Emmanuel Benbihy and PRIMUM ENTERTAINMENT GROUP enter into first license
deal for Cities of Love™ with next episode “Rio, I Love You™”
Cannes, France - May 17, 2009
CITIES OF LOVE™
Cities of Love™ is a series of motion pictures illustrating the universality of love in top iconic cities around the world.
Each Cities of Love’s™ episode respects a very specific format: it is a collective feature film composed of no less than
10 Segments - created by imaginative directors from countries around the world. All the Segments are woven together
by interstitial Transitions placed before, between and after each of the Segments. In each episode of this franchise, the
city is the main unifying character and the film shows it as a living, breathing and loving whole.
The Cities of Love™ series (Paris, je t’aime, New York, I Love You), which Emmanuel Benbihy has been developing
since 2000, reveals a new approach to the anthology genre. Through his development company, EVER SO CLOSE,
INC., he designed and structured the Cities of Love™ franchise in order to start selling Cities of Love™ one picture
licenses, with Rio, I Love You (“Rio, Te Amo”) being the first ever.
Over the years, Benbihy developed a specific production approach for an unusual format which is way more complex
than producing a series of short films:
• A unique split-out narrative structure has been defined. The fluid and innovative Format presents a new
approach of anthologies: the unity allows the audience to have a feature film experience, which ultimately leads
to a greater commercial appeal.
• A different organization of the production has been determined to match the specificities of the Format.
• Major Hollywood and world-class talent have embraced the experience on both sides of the camera. Specific
legal arrangements have made it possible for A-list talent to be part of the adventure with the support of US
guilds (DGA, WGA and SAG).
The Cities of Love™ franchise is a unique endeavor whose purpose is to build unity with diversity and to inquire into
the universality of love, to explore relationships in the urban life of the 21st century, a significant period in urban
evolution. The Cities of Love™ brand will travel around the world in the most romantic cities: negotiations are currently
underway for licenses for other cities.
The next episode produced by Benbihy will be “Shanghai, I Love You™” whose production is expected to begin in Fall
2009 and completed in time to be part of the Shanghai World Expo 2010. A larger announcement will be made later in
the Festival.
RIO, I LOVE YOU™
PRIMUM ENTERTAINMENT GROUP acquired the “Rio, I Love You™” license and will lead the co-production with its
Brazilian partners OZ PRODUÇÕES, LIMITE PRODUÇÕES, and BOSSA NOVA FILMS.
The episode, to be titled, “RIO, TE AMO™” will be an official Brazilian co-production and Rio de Janeiro based Limite
will coordinate the physical production effort for the endeavor. Their involvement brought Bossa Nova and Rio’s film
investment agency, RioFilme, to the team.
Emmanuel Benbihy will be Executive Producer and is expected to play an integral role in all phases of the production.
Additionally, RIOFILME, has committed to a development investment with the PRIMUM production consortium. The
deal gives RioFilme the opportunity to distribute in Latin America and confirms a direct participation by the City of Rio.
