RE: Colin Mosher
To Whom It May Concern:
It is a pleasure to write this letter of recommendation and proof of employment for Colin
Mosher, an exceptionally-gifted architect.
Colin came to work in the Princeton Office of Hillier Architecture in October of 2000. He
began his work as a designer in the Science and Technology Studio, a practice group
dedicated to the design of very special laboratory facilities for Colleges and Universities
and, in particular, the pharmaceutical industry.
In June of 2007, Hillier Architecture merged with RMJM of Scotland and the firm became
known as RMJM Hillier. In July of 2009, I retired from the firm. In March of 2010 Colin left
RMJM Hillier to return to his home state of California.
By the time Colin left the firm, he had attained the position of Associate Principal and was
the Design Director in the Health Care Studio of the firm. This studio was dedicated to the
design of health care facilities, including the new $480,000,000 University Medical Center
of Princeton.
I worked very closely with Colin on a project for the conversion of the original Princeton
Hospital, now known as the University Medical Center of Princeton, into apartments. This
project involved extensive public meetings and many design adjustments as a result of
those meetings.
I found Colin to be diligent, facile in design, and extremely dedicated in getting to a design
that the neighbors surrounding the site could not only accept, but also support. The end
result of Colin's and my many presentations was a zoning change that enabled the
hospital site to be approved for 280 apartment units. This resulted in the hospital being
able to sell the site for $34,000,000.
Colin is a talented and sensitive designer with the right balance of pragmatism to enable
him to get projects built. I highly recommend him to you for your consideration and am
available for any specific questions that you may have concerning this fine professional.
Respectfully yours,
J. Robert Hillier, FAIA
