The Civilization built by the man, his self or me, his egoism and the purpose of his life

1. THE CIVILIZATIONS BUILT BY THE MAN; MAN’S SELF OR ME, HIS EGOISM AND THE
PURPOSE OF HIS LIFE
The Civilizations built by the man found them upon the initiative and the interest of single
individuals or groups of individuals; each one of them has moved by the own self or me 1
, by
his/her own ambition and from his/her own egoism; then it can be said that the self or me, the
ambition and the egoism of these men have built the human Civilizations till now.
Our Civilizations are dominated therefore by the egoism and therefore they are built badly
as they show the injustices, the abuse of one’s office or power and the diffused poverties in every
Nation of the Earth and particularly in the Nations of the poor peoples of the South of the world, for
instance in Africa, continent very rich of raw materials, but exploited by the local powerful persons
and by multinational societies founded only by one hundred families of the North of the world.
Almost all men pretend too much from the others, also inside the families and also this is
deeply wrong because all we should be satisfied us with the essential things to live because the
purpose of our life is not that to accumulate wealths and wellbeing, on the contrary that to widen
our conscience overcoming the self or me and the egoism.
The religions can contribute to get better the world eliminating the self or me and the
egoism of very many men, simply acknowledging the teachings of the spiritual Teachers of
the Cerchio Firenze 77 2
(Circle Florence 77), among which that of the “To know ourselves 3
” for
spreading it among the own believers because such teaching is very important for eliminating the
self or me and the egoism of the single individuals, donating them, like this, their firsts “to feel” of
conscience 4
.
The religions should promote in the world a radical change also of this existing,
unfair and painful situation of very many millions of persons, promoting a society no more
founded on the profit and on the interest of few but a society where they prevail the collective
interests through the Christian collectivism founded upon the golden rule of the Lord Jesus Christ
<< You also do to the others everything that that you want that they do to you: this way it
commands the law of Mosè and so the prophets have taught 5
>>, guaranteeing to everybody a fair
pay in the Work Cooperatives because the enterprise and the other talents have been donated by
the Lord God not for ourselves only, but for the Communities in which we live also;
In the Work Cooperatives or in similar organizations the pays should be equal for
everybody, but enough for the simple way of living of the families, also of those of the presidents of
the Cooperatives or similar organizations.
The human society of the future must found itself upon the fundamental needs of the
families to live a dignified, but simple life, satisfying only the essential needs of each one, for not

2. the wealth or the luxury must gratify us, but the altruism that we succeed in developing in
ourselves; it is this altruism that gives us the peace and the happiness not the wealths!
To the same rules of whom works it must be stamped the politics: not more pays,
remunerations and other gold privileges for the political exploiters, as in Italy in this epoch (end of
the second Millennium and beginning of the third one) but pays as those of the workers, any it be
the office entrusted to the political one.
All the conflicts of the world are caused by the egoism and the same it is for the chaos that
reigns in our Nations; it is therefore very important that each one overcomes his/her self or me and
his/her egoism becoming unselfish in his/her intimate and behaving himself/herself with the others
as the Samaritan of evangelical memory 6
also applying the golden rule of the Lord Jesus " You do
to the others everything that that you want that they do to you 7
" . doing so his/her own part to be
able to live in peace on the Earth also. We will succeed more easily there if we will realize that the
Life is One and that in Spirit we are not separate from the others and from the same Cosmos 8
because everything is One in God 9
and since God is love 10
we can understand that we are united
not only to God, our Father and Mother, but also to all the other men 11
by a relationship of love, the
only one that will eliminate the conflicts and the wars from the world, but also the injustices, the
poverties and the sufferings 12
.
The Teacher Claudio of the Cerchio Firenze 77 (Circle Florence 77) teaches: << More than
to do and to have it is important to be: Today's man takes conscience of the exploitation to
which is submitted by various parts. I don't speak only of the job. His wife, his children, making up
lever on the family affection, they demand from him more of how much is reasonable to ask. The
priest, fearing catastrophes in this or in the other world, it demands a political vote that assures a
favourable form of government to the religion. And so on.
The reaction of the taking of conscience in front of all this, and to the privileges enjoyed by
a few, it strengthens the egoism of each one. It is said then <<I don't want to be exploited
anymore. I want to enjoy the privileges that the other ones enjoy>>. This way the parts are
reversed, the exploited ones they become exploiters. The confusion and the license increase the
dissatisfaction of each one. If the worker doesn't have his/her correct pay, it is a sacred holy
his/her right to fight for having it, but its duty is that to love and to defend its job. On the other hand,
it is not admissible that the advantageous positions of a few mortify the community, that for the
profit of some the general economy is damaged.

3. Every man, for how much goods he possess, for how much ability and capability has,
he/she is only a man, that is a worker worthy of his/her pay and nothing more.
The future society, if it will want to survive, it cannot be founded on the profit and on the
egoism in last analysis. It is therefore necessary to insert the individualism in the collectivism, in
the sense of tightly to acquit his/her own assignments, but working for the community and not for
personal profit. Only from a fusion of the individualism with the collectivism it can be born a new
society, founded and constituted by new individuals.
It is clear that each one expects that this change happens imposed from above, from who
governs, from the public powers, being each one convinced not to have role some in the public
thing. We affirm that everyone has his/her responsibility, each contributes to create the
environment in which he/she lives, it was not other with the tacit acquiescences.
What we say it is exactly the opposite one of what it is commonly believed. Nobody is
responsible of your ineptitude. If the society is unfair is because you are not sensitized to the
problem of the justice, and at your turn you are unfair.
How can you think of investing y with a responsibility the others of what you must do and
you don't do? When you observe the sad show of the corruption and the easy enrichment, you
regret not to be an insider, not to have the occasion to easily enrich in your turns. This way,
equally, you condemn the privilege because you are not privileged.
If a selfish conception of the life is not individually overcome, no problem that torments the
humanity can durably be resolved.
What must you do therefore?
For first thing, to convince yourself that happiness doesn't consist of accumulating wealth or
friendships, to free you from the desire to exploit the others, and to be convinced that the only
wealth is that that lies in the depth of his/her own being.
Every individual is rich only of himself/herself.
It is to also exploit the others to want them to convince to his/her own ideas to have some
followers.
I understand your easy objection: but we don't speak to you to have some followers. We
think that can draw a help from our words, but if you don't believe and not you follow what we tell
you we don't suffer.
It is clear that at the base of the existence of each one there is the egoism, and that egoism
cannot be eradicated ipso facto. This way, what we ask you at the beginning is a more correct
behaviour towards yours similars, an existence in which necessities are reduced to the essential
one, well knowing that this doesn't change you, that this has value only towards the others and of
the society in which you live, but that it leaves you unchanged in your intimate; nevertheless it is
necessary so that the liberty of the single ones doesn't become license, that individual egoism
doesn't transform it into cruelty, overbearance and tyranny.

4. But you must overcome the selfish and personal self or me that stamps every your action,
every your desire, every your thought. This is possible only if he/she is convinced of some
necessity of a similar change. The discourse that we do has value for whoever he/she knows that
the cause of the confusion, of all of this that it doesn't straightly proceed, it is not out of itself, but it
is in the intimate of each one. Instead our words don't serve to whom abdicates the society
because it is set in the position of the fox of the fable of Esopo, that renounce the grape only
because he/she cannot arrive at it.
But as it is possible to overcome the selfish and human self or me?
For centuries the men, when they have thought about this problem, solicited by the great
spiritualities, they have believed enough to behave them as some altruists to cancel his/her own
egoism, and they have not thought, instead, that the changing of the external attitude the internal
nature was unchanged.
It is perfectly useless that the ambitious one is sprinkled his head of ash. If he/she has not
changed his/her internal nature it will undoubtedly do it to deserve a prominent place in a
suppository spiritual life.
The only way to overcome his/her own limits is that to become aware of them.
You see, the purpose of the life of the man you can call it as you want but, essentially, it
means a thing only: to overcome a selfish vision of the existence. No to feel of conscience can be
reached if egoism is not overcome. This in few words, the purpose of the life of the man.
Well, to reach this purpose is necessary to become aware of the limits that are at the base
of a selfish conception of the own existence; it needs to perform a sort of auto psychoanalysis 13
.
This can seem very complex because, discovering yourself selfish, you think of change your
nature changing an external attitude, all giving, destroying your existence that until then you have
built founding it upon that vision of the life. But it is not this way. Nothing of all this. And here where
the thing, from complex, it becomes simple because it requires only, and nothing else more, that
some constancy.
You must examine your states of mind and therefore your behaviours. You must seek the
reason for your fears, of your incomprehension, of your thoughts. You must do for your actions and
your desires what you do towards the others. I see with how much diligence you try to guess other
people's intentions towards you, especially: " Why will he/she have asked me this question?, For
what motive he/she will have avoided to meet me ". Therefore, what is to do you know how to do it;
you have only of moving your attention from the others to yourselves, maintaining in the analysis a
detached behaviour and sincere.
Some play alone chess, now setting himself/herself on one side and then from the other of
the chessboard. This way you, in the analysis of yourselves, you must develop this double role of
the observer and of the observed person, forgetting in to the observe that you are the observed
ones.

5. But the most delicate phase of the analysis, in addition to the become aware, it is not to fall
in the temptation to behave yourself in the opposite way to as it discovers itself to be…. It is not
this way. I repeat it to you sons: you must realize of what it gets excited in your intimate. You must
overcome a conception of the life founded upon the separation. What is it in substance a
psychoanalytic care? To bring back in the sphere of the awareness of the individual that instincts
that, for the fact to be condemned by the ethic of the society, they have been from the individual
himself/herself buried in the deep states of his/her self or me, and, bringing them to his/her
awareness, to do him/her to overcome them.
What I propose you is an analogous process. You must make you aware of what it is inside
of you, of the limits that they are at the base of the selfish conception of the existence, beyond the
temptation to behave you in opposite way to how you discover to be, beyond the need I would say
almost to condemn yourselves; simply making himself/herself/itself aware of it: because it is this
awareness that, for a natural process, it will free you from that limits that they are at the base of
every selfish conception, breaking off so to the root the cause of every incomprehension and every
pain. Peace to you, sons. Peace to you 14
