This document discusses Baptist doctrine on the nature of God. It covers that there is only one true God, not multiple gods, and that each person of the Godhead - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - has a distinct role or function, but all three persons are equally divine. The document provides evidence for the trinity from the fact that God is referred to as the Father, and that the attributes of God, like omnipotence, apply to each member of the trinity.

Christians believe in one God who exists in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They believe God is eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. Christians believe in God for reasons such as ontological, cosmological, teleological, and moral arguments as well as religious experiences, miracles, and their upbringing. They believe Jesus was the Son of God and performed miracles such as calming storms, healing people, and resurrecting Lazarus to show he had power over nature, could heal people, and overcome death himself through his own resurrection.
The document discusses Christian beliefs about life after death, including the soul, heaven, hell, and purgatory. It also covers the relationship between the body and soul, God as a judge, salvation through Jesus, and the purpose of Christian funeral rites. Christian funeral rites aim to comfort the bereaved by celebrating the deceased's life, allowing expression of feelings, and providing closure and hope of reuniting with loved ones in heaven.
This document discusses religious beliefs including belief in God, heaven and hell, Jesus giving his life for humanity, and the Holy Trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The author believes it is important to pray to stay close to God, and that God created Earth for his children to live together in peace as brothers and sisters, finding their best selves as God's children.

Upon This Rock 19 Election and PredestinationMarvin McKenzie
This document discusses the doctrine of election and its perversion. It presents the Calvinist view that if God has elected someone to go to heaven or hell, there is nothing that can change that, even if they never hear the gospel or are an infant. The document argues that God elected all people to be saved, knew who would be saved before creation, and predestined the saved to be like Christ. It concludes that God wants all people to be saved, all the saved to unite in local churches, and for churches to witness for the Lord.

Rachele Barr gives the student speech at the 2008 graduation of Western Bible College. She discusses how she chose Western Bible College after researching various colleges' mission statements and finding that Western Bible's commitment to preparing students in a Spirit-driven environment aligned with her goals. At Western Bible College, Rachele found classes where the Holy Spirit's presence was evident and her faith was challenged and directed towards God's plan. She thanks all who supported the college and encouraged the students. Rachele reflects on lessons learned about herself and her calling through her studies at Western Bible College to be a missionary.
1) Jesus claimed divinity in several ways without directly saying "I am God". He allowed himself to be called Master and Lord, and said he and God are one. His transfiguration and the voice from heaven at his baptism also point to his divinity.
2) We can be confident Jesus will return because the Bible promises a second coming. Jesus' resurrection shows he is alive, and his continuing work transforming lives is evidence of his presence now and promise to return.
3) While salvation comes through grace alone, how Christians live matters as evidence of genuine faith. One's words and actions should show the love and goodness within, reflecting Christ's presence in their heart.

The document discusses the authenticity of the Bible from a Muslim perspective. It makes three key points:
1) Christian scholars acknowledge that the Bible was written by humans and passed through their minds, containing their characteristics, though some claim it is also divine.
2) Muslims view the Bible as containing three types of evidence - the direct word of God, the words of prophets, and the words of historians. They keep these separate, unlike Christians who treat all parts equally.
3) There are multiple versions of the Bible that contain different texts, showing it has been edited over time and is not perfectly preserved as the word of God. Muslims believe the Quran alone is the completely unchanged word of God
The document provides information about the key beliefs and texts of Christianity. It describes the Old Testament as containing 39 books including the stories of Genesis and Moses receiving the 10 Commandments. The New Testament tells the story of Jesus and has 27 books including the 4 Gospels. It also discusses the Holy Trinity of God the Father, God the Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The document outlines some of the key powers and characteristics Christians attribute to God.
There are incompatibilities between Islam and Christianity in the Qur'an (Koran) and Bible. We study the theological problems, the underlying philosophy, and support for Biblical truth
Modern approaches to Muslim evangelism include the so called Insider Movement and Common Ground. Both compromise the truth of Christian faith in an attempt to win over Muslim converts. My contention is that one must trust Biblical truth, stand firm in the faith and present the gospel in a clear form to Muslims. Contextualization is fine to make a subject understandable, but the truth of the message must never be compromised. This compromise distorts the faith, undermines the position of true converts, and deprives Muslim converts to Christianity of the truths they need to experience the power of the truly committed Christian life.
This document discusses the importance of Bible intake and spiritual disciplines for the Christian life. It emphasizes that no discipline is more important than regularly taking in God's word through reading, studying, and memorizing Scripture. The document provides guidance on practices like hearing sermons, studying the Bible, and memorizing verses. It encourages setting goals for Bible reading and offers tips like using study guides. Readers are reminded that growing in godliness requires allowing God's word to shape their lives over time through consistent Bible intake. When someone asks how to improve their Bible intake, the document recommends commitment to regular practices and not expecting mastery overnight.
This document provides an overview of Christianity including its history, beliefs, practices, and moral values. It discusses:
1. Christianity began with Jesus Christ, a Jew who was baptized by John the Baptist and began a ministry of teaching and performing miracles in Palestine. He was crucified but his followers believed he rose from the dead.
2. Central Christian beliefs include the Trinity of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that Jesus was both fully human and divine. Salvation comes through Jesus, and the Church continues his work through sacraments.
3. Christians celebrate holidays like Christmas and Easter, attend church services, pray, and read the Bible as their holy text which informs their
This document discusses different types of prayer and provides biblical examples and explanations for each. It discusses prayer of submission, prayer of praise and worship, prayer of intercession, and prayer of binding and loosing. For prayer of intercession, it notes that interceding for others can only be done when filled with the Spirit and speaking in tongues. It encourages repeating and confessing scriptures when praying.
This document presents the gospel message and explains how to receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. It discusses that eternal life is a free gift from God, all people are sinners, God provided a way for salvation through Jesus's death and resurrection, and salvation is received through faith in Jesus alone. It provides a sample prayer to accept Jesus as savior and receive eternal life.

What is God like? 'Believers' and atheists alike often carry and finally reject the toxic images of God in their own hearts. Whether our notions of 'god' are personal projections or inherited traditions, author and theologian Brad Jersak proposes a radical reassessment, arguing for A More Christlike God: a More Beautiful Gospel. If Christ is "the image of the invisible God, the radiance of God's glory and exact representation of God's likeness," what if we conceived of God as completely Christlike—the perfect Incarnation of self-giving, radically forgiving, co-suffering love? The implications could be surprising and wonderful!

The document discusses the concept of meekness. It defines meekness as balance between excessive anger and having no anger at all. It provides examples of meekness in historical figures like Moses and Jesus Christ. Moses prayed for the nation of Israel when they accused him and remained faithful to them for 40 years. Jesus ate with sinners, paid taxes he didn't owe, and prayed for forgiveness of those who crucified him. The document states that meekness is having one's flesh bridled through faith in Jesus Christ and his gospel work. It closes by referencing looking forward to a new heaven and new earth according to God's promise.
Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1
