EXECUTIVE BIO
Michael Siersema is a dynamic executive with over 30 years’ experience in corporate technology leadership,
strategic business and technology consulting, practice management, the military and community
leadership. In his most recent role as Chief Technology Officer at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC),
Michael was responsible for managing up to 2800 resources and collaborating with IBM, Oracle and
Microsoft to deliver high-impact solutions to Mattel, AT&T, Toshiba, Disney, Boeing Raytheon, Toyota,
DirecTV, Black & Decker, BHP Billiton Petroleum and Southern California Edison, to name a few.
Michael has always been passionate about leveraging technologies to achieve key business objectives. After
earning a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Electrical Engineering, he was hired by Lear
Astronics as Engineering Program Manager. He moved into Information Technology and left to become
CIO for Yokohama Tire in the mid-90s. He then transitioned to PriceWaterhouseCoopers as a
telecommunications engineering lead. He left to return to IT with Tatum CIO Partners, a professional
services company providing middle-market companies and large corporations with CIOs to manage their
IT functions. As the Managing Partner in Los Angeles, Michael led the region to land the highest-paying
and most profitable engagements in company history. After this success, Michael harnessed his
entrepreneurial spirit to establish his own technology consultancy where as CEO leading 27
executives/consultants; he reduced technology risk for companies ranging from NASA and Los Angeles
Department of Water and Power to mid-market businesses, hospitals and government agencies.
In 2007 Michael joined Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) as a Technology Director and steadily
progressed over 7 years to Market Solutions Director and Chief Technology Officer of the Pacific Region.
His reputation as a trusted advisor, big picture visionary, pioneer and change agent produced dramatic
bottom-line results for both CSC and their prestigious clientele. Michael’s impressive achievements at CSC
included creating a new line of business, Business Process as a Service (BPaaS), that yielded $21M over 5
years, introducing cloud computing solutions, and securing a $400K contract to design a “green” data
center.
As a forward-thinking, inquisitive and venturesome individual, Michael thrives on challenge and is the “go
to” person for tackling the most complex assignments. Through decisive and assertive leadership, Michael
spearheaded multiple technology transformations and business turnarounds, and grew annual revenue in
CSC’s highly competitive Los Angeles market from $8M to $50M during a recession. He loves to win and
his confidence is inspiring to others. By introducing his extensive network of business and technology
contacts to the CSC sales force, they were able to generate $40M in new business within 30 months.
Giving back to the community is paramount to Michael and in his spare time, he provides pro-bono
business and technology consulting services to local organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors
for the City of Huntington Beach Public Works Commission, Forum for Corporate Directors, TechAmerica
and Web Wise Kids. Earlier in his career, Michael proudly served in the US Air Force.
Michael is a thought leader who enjoys sharing his opinions on work-related problems through speaking
engagements, mentorship and publications. He has authored a book, “Intelligent Evolution: Origins of
Business Technology” and was a founding member of the Orange County Business Development Non-
Profit, Internet Professionals and University of California-Irvine Executive MBA Mentorship Program. As a
member of the Dean’s Council at Chapman University, Michael was a driving force in upgrading the IT
curriculum to better prepare students for the commercial world. He has also coached executives from
Women in Technology International, one of which became COO for a major IT organization.
