The following three categories identify several
of the business skills that are essential for
nurse managers:
1. Financial Management

 Recruitment means inducing or attracting
more and more candidates to apply for vacant
job positions in the organization.
 There are two important sources of
recruitment:
I. Internal Source of Recruitment
ii. External Source of Recruitment
 Group Discussion
 Group Work Activity
 CATEGORY I. Self care/minimal care
Patients who require diagnostic studies, minimal
therapy, less frequent observations, and daily care for
minor conditions and who are awaiting elective
surgery.
 Patients require nursing supervision or some
assistance related to ambulating and caring
for their own hygiene.
Given to patients with who need close attention
throughout the shift, that is complete care for
patients who require nursing to initiate,
supervise and perform most of their
activities
Given to acutely ill patients who have a high
level of nurse dependency, including those
requiring intensive therapy and/or intensive
nursing care and whose unstable condition
requires frequent evaluation with adjustment
of therapy.
 Form a group of 6-7 students.
 Read assigned topic from given article.
 Be prepared to share with the class.
