On November 24, 1973 a US Navy cargo plane was forced to crash land on a beach in Iceland after running out of fuel when the pilot switched to the wrong fuel tank. The entire crew survived the crash but the plane was abandoned. Over 40 years later, the abandoned wreckage from this crash inspired the fictional setting of a character's residence on a "paper street", which is a street that exists on maps but not in reality, in the 1999 film Fight Club. This paper street address foreshadowed the plot twist ending of the movie.
