Schematic representation of the three basically different types of
immunoliposomes:
(A) conventional immunoliposome with the antibody attached in a random
orientation;
(B) PEG-liposome with antibodies attached to the liposomal bilayer in a random
orientation;
(C) PEG-liposome with antibodies attached at the terminal end of the PEG-
chain in a site-specific manner, rendering the antibody molecules with their
antigen-binding site exposed and protruding from the liposome.
