My opinion about FAT by TCM
This began when I have a question about different obesity type between man and
woman. Man has apple type and woman has pear. Why?
I asked this to a few colleagues, but no good answers. Here is my view so far.
Spleen governs dampness and heat in late summer. If spleen has excessive
capability to handle against damp heat, spleen gives away to someone who is easy
to win over, which is kidney. As far as kidney is concerned, this damp heat
doesn’t belong to kidney herself, so kidney try to give back to spleen, but
spleen refuses to take it. Kidneys try to give away to heart. This is the cycle
we know well. When kidney works for that, kidney produces essence. This essence
combines with damp heat.
Therefore damp heat with essence makes fat.
Woman belongs to yin and man belongs to yang. This means woman kidney yin is
strong and man has strong kidney yang. Yang will locate higher and yin lower.
