  4. 4. The McNair Scholars Program at TAMUCC…
  5. 5. Named after Challenger Astronaut Ronald E. McNair…
  6. 6. <ul><li>… is looking for *sophomore or junior level students *majoring in Liberal Arts or Sci & Tech who want to go to graduate school (excluding med school law school). </li></ul>
  7. 7. To qualify for the program students must be in at least one of the following categories…
  8. 8. <ul><li>Low income (usually defined as Pell Grant eligible) and first-generation in college (neither parent has a 4 year degree) </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Member of a minority group underrepresented in graduate education. </li></ul>
  10. 10. The McNair Scholars Program provides students with….
  11. 11. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE!! The opportunity to work with a McNair Research Faculty Member during the summer on a research project.
  12. 12. A stipend of up to $2800 for completing the summer Research Experience!!!
  13. 13. Opportunities to travel and present your research at McNair Scholars Program conferences!!!
