Introduction
Title When you’re faced with a difficult issue whether it’s a math problem
or in my expertise I would say an issue with a sport. What would be
Introduction the one thing that would make you do better or complete the task?
Task
What is a Motivation?
Process According to About.com, Motivation is defined as the process that initiates, guides
and maintains goal-oriented behaviors. Motivation is what causes us to act, whether
Evaluation
it is getting a glass of water to reduce thirst or reading a book to gain knowledge.
Conclusion
Are there different forms of motvation?
GREAT QUESTION, of course there is!
Intrinsic motivation refers to motivation that comes from inside an individual rather
than from any external or outside rewards, such as money or grades.
The motivation comes from the pleasure one gets from the task itself or from the
sense of satisfaction in completing or even working on a task.
Extrinsic motivation refers to motivation that comes from outside an individual.
The motivating factors are external, or outside, rewards such as money or grades.
These rewards provide satisfaction and pleasure that the task itself may not
provide.
An extrinsically motivated person will work on a task even when they have little
interest in it because of the anticipated satisfaction they will get from some reward.
The rewards can be something as minor as a smiley face to something major like
fame or fortune. For example, an extrinsically motivated person who dislikes math
may work hard on a math equation because want the reward for completing it. In
the case of a student, the reward would be a good grade on an assignment or in the
class.

The Task

Title
Break off into groups and act out a scenario that shows a problem and clearly show both
Introduction forms of motivation, then explain which one you believe is the best form of motivation.
Task
You can also do this outside of the classroom, film and edit it using Movie Maker or iMovie.
Process This is where you can be as unique as you want.
Evaluation Here's an example of what I think motivation in a sport is.

[Teacher Page] The Process
1. Individually look up a YouTube video that best represents the way you feel both
Title intrinsic and extrinsic looks in a sports setting.
2. Break off into groups of 2 or 3
Introduction 3. While in these groups you will either perform a skit in class or film yourself outside of
Task the classroom . This skit should show a situation in a sport, then show BOTH types of
motivation
Process 4. After completing your skit or after the video is over, each student must give their
opinion on which type of motivation is the most effective for a similar situation and
Evaluation why.
