7. building typology - examples

areas residences mutual areas spaces
The biggest challenge lies with the organization of the buildings/
the building process. It is possible to work with several different
typologies; dependent on what demands and priorities applies
for each individual building.
Common to the different typologies is the centrally placed
common area, which is the coupling of the building. As well in-
ternally as with its surrounding context.
For all typologies applies that the organization must create a
compromise between an airy structure, with a good contact to
the surrounding outdoor areas, as well as a compact organiza-
tion with short internal distances.
#1 junction The residences are placed in relatively compact bodies, which
are joined with the central, public areas.
8. building typology - examples

#2 embrace The residences embrace the central, public area.
#3 terraced houses The residences are terraced across the central, common areas

#4 cirkular The residences are organized within a circular building-body,
which is penetrated by the central, common areas.
#5 vertical Residences and common areas are organized within a vertical
structure.
