2. A few facts about Danube Delta
• The second largest river delta in Europe,
after Volga Delta
• The greatest part of the Danube Delta lies
in Romania (Tulcea county).
• The climate is continental with strong
influences from the Black Sea. It is the driest
and sunniest region of Romania.
3. SFANTU GHEORGHE
• Sfântu Gheorghe is a commune in Tulcea
County, Romania. It is located at the
extremity of the southern branch of the
Danube near the Black Sea, in
the Dobruja region. It contains a single
village, Sfantu Gheorghe. It has
approximately 1000 inhabitants.

4. SULINA
Sulina is a town and a free port
in Tulcea County, Romania. It is
situated on the Sulina branch and it is
also the easternmost point of
Romania.

5. CHILIA
Chilia is a commune on the
Danube Delta. It gave its name to
the Chilia branch of the Danube,
which separates it from Ukraine.
It is composed of four villages:
Câşliţa, Chilia Veche, Ostrov
Tătaru and Tatanir.
