• GOAL – We are committed to creating a vibrant
province where active pursuit of scientific
knowledge and technical innovation enables a
healthy, prosperous and sustainable society.
• INTENTIONS – We will work within our own
particular realm and in concert with others to
actively promote a vibrant culture of scientific
inquiry and technical innovation in the province
of British Columbia.

4. Science Charter Community Activity
• Oct 12, 2012 – Symposium confirming commitment and
framework for the charter
• Nov 16, 2012 – Meeting – Dr. Moira Stillwell guest
speaker and advisor
• Dec 14, 2012 – Meeting – Charter finalized
• Jan to Aug, 2013 – Charter endorsed through governing
bodies of 13 province-wide founding institutions
• Sept 28, 2013 – Charter launched to kick-off the Around
the Dome Science Festival
• March 7, 2014 – BC Science Outreach Workshop
“reborn”

5. Science Charter BC Next Steps
• Reinstate/Reactivate an Annual BC Science
Outreach Workshop (here we are … AGAIN!)
• Expand & extend “Around the Dome in 30 Days: A
Month-long Science Festival [Sept to Oct 2015]”
with partners up, down, and across BC
• Re-create, populate a BC Science Outreach
Directory
• Stay connected to further explore opportunities to
further network, share best practices, cross-
promote… and collaboratively transform this
province!
