3. The Agnihotra (sanskrit: agni = fire, hotra =
healing), is practiced in the rhythm of sunrise
and sunset.
Agnihotra is a pyramid fire technique passed
down from the ancient Atharva Vedas.
It is a process of removing the toxic conditions
of the atmosphere through the agency of fire
The thereby healed and purified atmosphere
imparts beneficial effects on man, animals
and plants (Paranjpe, 1989).
3
4. The ancient knowledge about the pyramid
fire was newly revived in the middle of the
20th century by Parama Sadguru Shree
Gajanan Maharaj and his student, Shree
Vasant V. Paranjpe.
Today, it is mainly practiced by organic
farmers in South America and India, but
is also gaining increasing attention in North
America and Europe.
. 4
5. It is also known as the “Maharishi” vedic organic
agriculture
since it was earlier mentioned in ‘Atharvaved’ and it
had been
Practiced successfully by ‘Rishi and maharishis’.
The science and believes behind it:-
Utilizing the healing fire, holy ash & vedic sounds,
the sounds of natural
law to awaken the inner intelligence of the plant and
promote a peaceful , healthy life for all who eat them.
The chanting of mantaras removes negative
energies from the environment

8. PROCEDURE OF PERFORMING AGNIHOTRA
Preparation of Agnihotra fire:-
Procedures :-
One piece of cow dung cake is placed on
the bottom of the pyramid; and more cake
pieces which ghee on them are placed
along the inside of the pyramid, leaving an
opening in the middle.
The rice offering consists of two pinches of
raw rice without broken into pieces.
The fire should be lightened several
minutes before the precise time, so that the
cow dung cake will be fully ablaze at the
exact time.

This adding of pinch of rice into the fire with
chanting mantras in Sanskrit . There are two types
of mantras which are performed at the time of
sunrise in the morning and sunset in the evening.
. At the precise moment, being the mantras
adding one of the portion of rice after ‘swaha’
continue the mantras, adding the second offering
after ‘swaha’.
The completes Agnihotra within 10 min. and it is
preferable to sit quitely or mediate untill the fire
goes out.
_The ash residue left after the performance of
Agnihotra is collected every day in a cloth. It is
shifted finely through fine muslin cloth. The fine
sieved ash is ‘the miracle powder’ used in Agnihotra
farming as a growth promoter & insecticide.

14. USES OF AGNIHOTRA ASH (THE
MIRACLE POWDER) IN AGRICULTURE
1. SOIL PREPARATION:-
(a) For fields irrigated prior to sowing:-
5kg of Agnihotra ash per acre spread on the fields.
with limited amount of ash, cowdung cakes should be
pulverised to a powder and mixed with the ash available.
(b) For fields with no pre sowing irrigation:-
Ash should be mixed with water and solution should be
sprayed on the fields 2-3 days prior to sowing.2
2.SEED TREATMENT:-
20 g Ash + Cow’s urine + 1 kg seed Shade dried.
3. IRRIGATION:-
_ During each irrigation, the ash should be tied in a cotton
cloth and suspended over the irrigation channel in such a way
that the rushing water dissolves the ash and carries it into the
field. ( 5 kg Ash dissolved in 1000 L water for 5 acre).
AGRN-522 14
15. 4. CROP PROTECTION:-
Crops sprayed with the ash solution get protected from pest
and diseases.
100 L water + 5 L cow’s urine + 2 kg Ash Stirred 2-3 times
per day with stick 3rd day Ash settles down at the bottom
without shaking & disturbing sediment pour off all liquid with a
cloth Sprayed on the crop.
The healing power of the spraying solution can be increased
by stirring it:-
* Clockwise 5 times in the morning
* Anticlockwise 5 times in the evening.
5. STORAGE OF CROPS:-
Cereals & Pulses can be mixed with ash prior to storage .
A layer of ash can be spread at the bottom of the storage
container, another layer when the container is half full and the
third layer when the container has been filled to the top.

16. EFFECTON AGRICULTURE
• Increases useful micro-
organisms in the soil. E.g
the size (up to 50cm) and
population of the
earthworm in the soil.
• Increases water holding
capacity of the soil.
• Increases solubility of
phosphates.
• Assists in disease, pest and
insects control.
• Facilitate increased
activities of honeybees
(pollinator).
• Enhances nutritional and
vitality contents of compost
& vermicompost.

21. EFFECT ON ENVIRONMENT
Homa application are a practical contribution to
environment protection because they purify the
atmosphere and improve the quality of air, water, soil .
The pyramid form and the copper act as a generator of
NEGATIVE ions, these ions have a BENEFICIAL effect
on the environment and a positive effect on well being
people
Cow dung contain the substance similar to penicillin
which has a disinfecting effect and reduces pathogenic
bacteria
According to vedic scriptures cow dung reduces the
radioactive radiation.

attracted to the homa
energies they enable
them to fulfill their task
of pollinating plants
more effectively in
addition bees produce

Agnihotra ash –” The miracle powder”
used as medicine such as:-
Mental and emotional healing.
Physical healing.
Renews brain cells.
Revitalizes the skin.
Purifies blood.
Balances the homeostasis of the body.
Great aid for de-addiction.
24. AGNIHOTRA EFFECT ON
BACTERIAL POPULATION
• A preliminary experiment was carried out to study the effect of
Agnihotra on the bacterial population in a room where Agnihotra
was performed. For this study, two rooms of equal dimensions
were selected.
• In both rooms fire was prepared from dried cowdung cakes in
copper pyramids and the basal reading of number of
microorganisms in both the rooms was taken by exposing blood
agar plates at four corners of the room for 10 minutes.
• Bacterial counts were taken again in both the rooms in a similar
manner at half hour intervals. Thus readings were taken in both
the rooms up to two hours after performance of Agnihotra.
• It was quite interesting to note that microbial counts in the room
where Agnihotra was performed were reduced by 91.4% .
• This leads one to think that it was the process of
Agnihotra which was responsible for the reduction of bacterial
counts and not the more presence of fire.

25. ATHARAV VED –ANCIENT GURU TRADITION
In the Atharva veda Guru tradition of
ancient India, the following things are told:
Agnihotra neutralizes harmful radiations
and cleanses the planet.
By performance of Agnihotra pyramid
HOMA the blood gets purified.
You sit at Agnihotra fire and breathe in the
smoke which goes quickly into the blood
stream and lungs. This has excellent effect
on circulatory system.

27. Insects Become Radioactive
Around Chernobyl, site of the
nuclear power plant accident
the insects have not died.
They have become
radioactive.
They multiply and create
havoc.
There is no way to stop them
except Agnihotra HOMA Therapy
as given in the ancient Atharva
Veda Guru tradition of India.

28. Kirchberg, Austria - 1986
A farmer had a farm in Kirchberg near Graz, Austria in 1986
when the Chernobyl accident happened.
He was following the basic teachings of Atharva Veda tradition
which he had learned directly from Vasantji - sunrise/sunset
Agnihotra, offerings to fire with Mrityunjaya Mantra four hours
daily and twenty four hours on Pournima and Amavasya day.
Immediately after the Chernobyl accident Austrian Government
issued instruction that milk and fodder in our area should be
tested for radioactivity.
Scientists were shocked to find that milk and fodder on his
farm had normal radioactivity while all the surrounding farms
had much higher radioactivity.
This was a direct proof how knowledge from Atharva veda and
Guru Tradition of India protected his farm from Radioactivity.

29. ADVANTAGES
it is a total and complete organic farming with assured
yield.
It produces healthy soils ,healthy plant life and healthy
yield
restores natural taste , color and flavor of the yield.
reduces incidence of pests and disease and there by the
need of pest control measure
poison – free fodder and food, no environmental
pollution and ecological disturbance, safe to handle by
the plant protectors.
leads to sustainable agriculture
. 31
30. PRECAUTION
Agnihotra done at the exact time of sunrise and
sunset
only whole kernal rice is used .
you have to use only copper or gold pyramid .
cow dung should be dried .
you have to mix content in proper ratio.
AGRN-522 32
31. LIMITATION
Solution should be sprayed a little before
flowering.
Later when crop starts ripening.
During pollination only dry ash should be
sprayed on the field since spraying a solution a
could interfere pollination.
There is not any effective role in weed
management
AGRN-522 33
32. CONCLUSIONS: Agnihotra – An age old Vedic solution
to new age challenges
From the results presented here, the potential of
Homa farming and Agnihotra ash in particular to
improve the solubility and thus the plant
availability of soil P is clearly visible.
However, a number of questions remain to be
solved. As was shown in the experiments, the
use of copper vessels for burning appears to
play an important role in the effectiveness of the
fire technique.
AGRN-522 34
33. Greater the number of people engaged in the
practice of Agnihotra at a location, greater and
faster shall be the impact.
Prof. Hernandez opined that Agnihotra
neutralises toxicity, modifies the surroundings
affecting both the physical and mental health.
Thus Homa therapy acts like a silent
psychotherapy.
As a result of agnihotra more and more people
have stopped drinking alcohol and smoking
