● Spearheaded:
o Installation and configuration of Sun servers for WebAXE rewrite project, Database
schema for Oracle 8.1.7 on 3 Sun servers and iPlanet web server and directory server on
the above 3 servers
o Oracle 9i, iPlanet web and directory servers on these servers
o Implementation of database schema for the Oracle database on these servers
o Development of customized PL/SQL to implement DML routines on Oracle database
● Worked with DBAto implement hot backup and recoveryprocedures using RMANand Legato
● Designed & implemented structure for LDAP database on development and production
servers
● Supervised developers to query the LDAP database and run the stored proceduresfrom their
code.
● Worked with Lead Developer to configure iPlanet web server
● Developed shell scripts to transfer data from the old structure to the new structure on LDAP
● Worked with Tech. Writer to document the process to hand it over to production
● Assisted DBA in development of scripts using export/import to transfer data to a repository
every night
● Retired another application running on a Sun E450 (Solaris 2.6) thereby freeing up the server.
This server was re-assigned to the WebAXE application, saving the company about $75000.
● Defined LDAP replication between all the above servers.
● Created materialized views to propagate information from the Oracle 8.1.7 database from the
Oracle 8.1.7 database running on the E450 (master) to the 2 E3500s (snapshots)
● Developed customized PL/SQL and Oracle supplied packages to implement data transfers
from 2 E3500s to the E450 on a nightly basis
● Performed database tuning on Oracle databases with sqltrace and tkprof
● Led:
o Implementation of Oracle Enterprise Manager 2.2 to monitor the databases
o Created shell scripts and cron jobs for performance maintenance of these Oracle servers
o Migration of Netscape web servers and directory servers to iPlanet web server and
directory server for the WebAXE application
o Migration of the Oracle database running anolder version on this application to this version
on another Windows NT server.
● Provided on-call support (24/7) for this application and 24/7 support for Oracle on these 3
servers
● Developed customized data routines using SQL*Loader and PL/SQL.
o Led Installed and configured Oracle 8i on 3 Windows NT servers for a 3rd party application.
o Installed Oracle patches to resolve shared memory issues
● Defined Oracle administrative accounts and database schema as required by the application
● Worked with vendor to tune shared memory, tablespace usage on the application
● Provided on-call support (24/7) for the database and on-call support (24/7) for a Sybase
database
