Ponty Chadha was a liquor baron from Uttar Pradesh, India who expanded his liquor business to 20 billion in three North Indian states. He co-owned the company Wave Inc. with his brothers. In 2012, he was killed in a violent shootout at his farm in New Delhi. Chadha's business empire, the Chadha Group, operated under the Wave brand and included interests in liquor, real estate, film distribution, education and more. Some of their major projects were Wave City, Wave City Center, Wave Estate and supporting initiatives like the Ponty Chadha Foundation.
