2. Rowing (AKA “crew”) Positions
The rowers:
Novice rowers – less than 1 year collegiate rowing experience
Varsity rowers – more than 1 year collegiate rowing experience
No experience needed, we will teach you how to row!
There are no height or athletic requirements to join!
All members must pass a basic swim test
The coxswain:
Women ~110 lbs.
Men ~120 lbs.
We will teach you the commands!
3. Boats
We currently have two 8 person boats, three 4’s, and one two
person boat (called a “pair”)

Ergs measure: power, stroke rate, & meters rowed
Ergs help rowers to perfect technique and gauge progress

5. Facilities and Practices
Our water practices are held about 5 minutes from campus by
Ned McWherter Park. We carpool, so don’t worry about how to
get there.
Indoor (erg/swim) practices are held at the Student Aquatic
Center (SAC)
Practices are Monday/Wednesday from 6:00-7:30am and
Tuesday/Thursday from 5:30-7:30pm as well as Friday
evening practices for those needing more time on the water.
This may change if members’ schedules or circumstances dictate otherwise.

10. Dues and Fundraising
Rowers pay: $325 for first semester
$275 for second semester
Coxswains pay: $275 for first semester
$225 for second semester
Club dues will be due after practices start,
but before the first regatta.
There is a payment plan available for
those who need it.
Don’t hesitate to ask one of the officers for
help.
