Let as just first start at the basic.

We live in a world of sound.
Anywhere we go and whatever
we do, we hear sound.
We hear the chirping of birds,
ticking of clock and beating of our
hearts.
 Most of our gadgets are sound
embedded to
amuse us.
 In the field of geology and
oceanography, sound is used to
determine depths.
 The health sciences are also using
sound for medical purposes.
 Some animals are dependent on sound
for
movement.
IN PHYSICS,
Sound

• is a mechanical wave that is
an oscillation of pressure
• is transmitted through a solid,
liquid, or gas
• is a form of energy and is
transmitted by vibrating matters

• travels in waves
Sound is made when something vibrates.

• The vibration

disturbs the air
around it.
• This makes changes
in air pressure.
• These changes in
air pressure move
through the air as
sound waves.
