4. Agriculture sector plays important role in the
economic development of Pakistan
Its contribution to GDP is about 20.9%
Its share in export is more than 40%
Its feed more than 44.8%

5. There is common saying regarding our farmer that he is
born in debt, grows in debt and die in debt.
Poor farmer have limited income to purchase HYV
seeds, fertilizers, tractor, tube well and thresher etc.
To meet financial needs they have to go Arthiays and
commission agents who charge exceedly high rates of
interest and mortgage land very low price.

According to a rough estimate about 1 lac acre of land
is affected by water logging and salinity every year.
To improve agriculture production we use pesticide
and fertilizers etc.
As a result health of soil is deteriorating day by day.

economic set up.
Land are considered just a source of livelihood.
The big farmer considered their lands as a sign and symbol
of power.
The farmer hesitated to adopting following technique like
seed concerning, modern fertilizers, sprays, and
mechanization of farm.
In village we do not have agro based industries.

8. In our country total cultivated area is about 79.6
million hector, but out of this area about 30 million
hector area is being brought under cultivation.
As 89% of farmer are having area less than 10 acre.
Out of this 14% of land area having one to two area.
While 25% lands having less than 5 acre.

9. Land tenure system of country throws light on
relationship between land owners and cultivation.
Relationship between owners and tenants is not very
cordial and plausible.
The tenants do lose their interest in respect of
cultivation and production.
Even the land reforms of Aube and Bhutto period could
not change status quo of owner farmer relationship.

10. Formers income are always prey to variations and
changes.
To protect their income and yield Govt. announced
procurement and arranges to purchase their produce.
Again the farmer have to face problem of payment

11. The farmer is not sure of success of seed sown because
uncertainty of weather unavailability of water and
fertilizer.
