Many years ago during a holiday in Paris I visited the Musee Guimet and was inspired by the colors and imagery of the Tibetan textiles and Buddhist Mandalas I saw there. Eventually I was able to realize this inspiration with my Galaxy Mandala needlepoint wall hanging. www.SallyCoreyArt.com.

As WestPoint Stevens’ Design Manager for Licenses, for the Sanderson line I chose the linen print "Avening” from its range to build this ensemble. Inspired by Indian miniature paintings, I took the ensemble in that direction. For the sheets, pillowcases and drapery fabric I created a vine lattice enclosing smaller bouquets. The stripe coordinate also has this feeling embellished with tiny multi-colored flowers. In order to maintain the integrity of the original main 54" print I developed the 18-screen flatbed print and had it engraved by Mascioni in the lakes region of Italy, where I supervised strikeoffs for market samples.
As Sanderson license Design Manager at WestPoint Stevens, I chose a linen print from their range called "Glade" to adapt for this fashion bed ensemble. For the coordinating sheets and pillow cases and the comforter back I found weaves in the range and developed CAD prints that capture their woven texture.

As Design Director for Future Textiles, I sourced this sumptuous silk velvet burnout in Shaoxing, lined it with a polyester lame, and corded and backed it with a polyester velvet.
Also for Future Textiles, I developed this unique iridescent microfiber fabric blending contrasting warp and fill colors to create an exciting machine-quilted coverlet and pillow sham in seven trend-perfect colorways.
For Future Textiles I designed and developed this "Venice" bed ensemble of pearlescent microfiber cutwork applique on velvet with sheer metallic jacquard and ruffled fabrics over satin for decorative pillows; crystal pleated bedskirt.
For Future Textiles I designed and developed "Pandora" - a heat transfer ikat printed on polyester duppioni slub fabric in Shanghai - it really looks and feels like woven raw silk! And I designed the coordinating decorative pillow, machine embroidered also in Shanghai - see detail, next picture.
My decorative pillow of machine-embroidered on polyester duppioni further articulates the Asian feeling of "Pandora."
Another machine quilted coverlet and sham set I designed for Future Textiles: "Linley" polyester duppioni slub.
For Sunham Home Fashions, as Design Manager for their WalMart business, I sourced this beautiful sheer machine-crewel-embroidered organza and had it fabricated over solid white satin for this decorative pillow reviewed by WalMart at Shanghai office.
Another decorative I developed to show WalMart for Homelines: sourced linen fabrics with natural shell buttons.
And another decorative I developed to show WalMart for Homelines: sourced indigo linen fabrics with quilted cotton sateen fabric and natural shell button.
Again for Sunham, I created this concept board for "Jean," young adult boho bedding ensemble reviewed by WalMart. Featured prominently is its crocheted, scallop-edged and tasseled decorative pillow amid a tumble of "found" patterns in a variety of techniques including machine-embroidered yo-yo's on linen decorative pillow and bird's-eye weave accessory fabric.
For Sunham I developed "Montana" for WalMart's review, responding to their EcoOrganic trend direction, featuring natural leaf, stone and water imagery in various techniques for this bed fashion ensemble.
In response to WalMart's Souvenirs trend direction I developed "Nepal" which combines exotic yet trendy elements for a subtly colorful bed ensemble,
To show WalMart for its Mainstays quilt and sham assortment review I designed this Amish-inspired patchwork of pieced stripes alternating with cable quilting.
For Sunham I sourced the botanical fabric and stripe for reverse to show this scallop-edge quilt and sham concept.
Designing machine-quilted satin coverlets for Sam's Club was another of my responsibilities as Sunham's Design Manager for their WalMart business. This is one of several I developed, along with their coordinating shams.
At Victoria Classics I had the opportunity to design this subtle weave for upholstery fabric in a number of colorways of which these are a few.
Victoria Classics also afforded me the opportunity to design this machine crewel embroidery featuring a variety of decorative stitching.
Another rug - needlepoint - I designed for Rosecore Carpet Company, in the early 19th century French style.
I started my textile design career as Design Director for Rosecore Carpet Co., now a part of Schumacher's Patterson, Flynn & Martin. This is one of a collection of 19th century French style custom rugs I designed.
