1. Stadiums Head 2 Head Script
The documentary will start with both stadiums being on the screen this will be a split
screen shot and the title “Stadiums Head 2 Head” will fly in at the top of the screen. A
transition into a panning shot will take place and it will present Jamie walking down a
street on the way to the first stadium – Craven Cottage. Here the lighting will be
natural and the only sound that will be heard is diegetic natural sound of passing cars
and other people on the street. Jamie will take the viewers through some facts
addressing the camera directly (a direct address) and these facts will be presented
through a close up, extreme close up and mid shot where smooth transitions will take
place. We will also be using a tracking shot whilst Jamie is walking towards the
stadium which will be developed after the mid shot. This is where the introduction of
a Fulham song entering the background will take place; we have considered a Michael
Jackson song as his statue stands outside the stadium. From this there will be a
transition into a wide angle shot showing the Fulham Megastore in the background, at
this point the music will be continued throughout the scenes (a sound bridge) and the
lighting will remain natural. Once inside the megastore Jamie will look around at the
items on sale and the prices of these items using Point of Views and later on in the
documentary compare these to Chelsea FC. Whilst inside the store there will be a
close up which will smoothly develop into an extremely close up using zoom in’s and
will also be including an eyeline match. Jump cuts will then occur and Jamiewill be at
the statue of Fulham’s best player in their history: Jonny Haynes, after discussing the
reason for it being there through a series of shots including mid shots and close ups
Jamie will then get inside the stadium on the pitch. Jamie will explain some statistics
about the ground e.g its ticket prices, its capacity and average attendance. Throughout
this scene Jamie will take the cameraman through the facilities at Craven Cottage,
firstly there will be a long shot of Jamie in the changing room exploring the general
quality of it, then there will be a series of quickly edited shots ranging from close ups
to point of views to handheld shots whilst looking through the different parts of the
stadium whilst talking about certain statistics. Once back in the stadium Jamie will
introduce the interview that is about to follow. The non-diegetic music will then cut
off and a transition will take place and the camera will show a two shot between
Jamie and a season ticket holder from Fulham in which shot-reverse-shots, an over the
shoulder shot, two shots and a close up will take place. We will ask the season ticket
holder a series of questions relating to the overall pricing of the stadium, the quality
and the future prospect. The lighting will be slightly dimmed and the sound will be
diegetic. The interview will signal the end of the Fulham clip and a transition from a
two shot into a panning shot will take place. The background sound will be non-
diegetic as a song related to Chelsea FC will be played, lighting will be adjusted
slightly. A wide angle shot will be evident as Jamie approaches the Chelsea
Megastore with a point of view occurring once inside, with eyeline matches, sound
bridges and synchronous sound. Jamie will arrive at Stamford Bridge and take the
cameraman once again through the facilities there, shots developing from a mid-shot
to a long shot using reverse zooms, and point of views will develop into close ups.
Once again the extreme long shot of the stadium will develop into a two shot and the
Chelsea non-diegetic music will cut off. Over the shoulder shots, point of views and
extreme close ups will take place. A final establishing shot will take place with facts
summarising “which stadium is better?” overlapping the stadiums.
