2. MRS GREN is an easy way to
remember the seven life processes.
They are:
Movement, Respiration, Sensitivity, Gr
owth, Reproduction, Excretion and
Nutrition. The seven life processes
are what builds up a „living thing‟.
3. Seed to flower, baby
to adult, cub to tiger,
altogether Growth is a very important
life process. All living things grow. In life
growth important for living things to
defend and to look after themselves. As
well as humans, plants need to grow as
well because if somebody tramples on a
seed then it most likely will not grow but
if it‟s a fully grown tree then it will have
grown strong enough to survive from it.
4. Movement is very
important because
if you can‟t move then you won‟t be
able to escape from danger.
Movement is an important life
process so animals can keep fit and
protect themselves from anything
chasing them. Did you know that
plants move their leaves towards the
sun as the plants grow?
5. Sensitivity is your senses:
smell, taste, hear, sight, and touch.
“hearing” is a great sense to locate
animals or anything loud. „sights‟ also
an extremely good sense for
observing things such as dangerous
animals, plants, danger and food.
„Smell‟ is also a good sense because
it can alert us to dangers like a
fire, or a delicious meal.
6. Excretion is when living things let out
all of the toxic waste that they no
longer need. It‟s also when you breath
out carbon dioxide which carries a
out a lot of toxins as well. On the
other hand plants excrete by
shedding their leaves. Did you know
that plants excrete more than
humans.
7. Respiration is breathing. To breath is
one of the obvious things that
classifies a living thing to a non living
object. A living thing breathes in
oxygen and breathes out carbon
dioxide also known as „co2‟, however
plants do the opposite. They breath in
carbon dioxide and breath out
oxygen.
8. Nutrition is what living things eat and
drink. It is an important life process
to keep a living thing healthy, fit and
strong. If living things do not eat
then they will die of hunger, on the
other hand if you don‟t drink then
living things will get dehydrated and
die.
9. Reproduction is the one of all of the
seven life processes that is
important. Reproduction is something
that carries on the species of animal
or plant.
10. Now that you know all of the seven
life processes then you can tell other
people about it and have it in the
back of your mind. Once again the
seven life processes are:
Movement, Respiration, Sensitivity, Gr
owth, Reproduction, Excretion and
Nutrition.
