NLP and language learning
As Heap stated NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), is focused on human behavior
and cognition, which aims to enhance the effectiveness of communication and promote
learning and personal development. In terms of language learning, NLP provides diverse
advantages in order to cope with life more effectively, such as come up with our own
consciousness of learning, provide tools, as well as strategies, and finally construct of
experiences.
Firstly, the NLP allows you to generate your own process of learning and come to
your own awareness’s from working through the processes taught, so we will benefit from
the acquisition of models in human behaviour. This will provide a true leading edge in
understanding ourselves and others in any context and help you both professionally and
personally.
Secondly, professional and learners are able to apply tools, for example,
techniques like mirroring and matching, at the same time students can administer selfmanagement, presentation skills, use of language for precise communication, classroom
management, and so on. An example about the previous ideas will be, by persistently
adopting a particular behaviorwhen the teacherstand one place, as a result the learners
will begin to comprehend that space with what the teacher is about to do and what will
happen next. Furthermore, learners’ own internal model will swap in anticipation for what
they know from experience. At the end, language patterns can further improve
communication and results by leading to greater influence and understanding.
Thirdly, when it comes about strategies, so as to enhance language learning,
students might be able to identify what is distinctive about the strategies in a given skill,
including internal cognitive as well as behavioral elements, such that other people can
learn to perform the same skill. As Korzybski’s defines, NLP is “the map is not the
territory”, that means that NLP works along with people’s constructions of the world.
For instances, NLP helps you gain control of our mind. In other words NLP is
interested in how people construct their experiences through cognitive processes.
Consequently, there is a strong emphasis on understanding the structure and process of,
rather than the content of, experience.
To conclude, the neuro-linguistic programming has control in different areas, that
is to say, by using communication to influence other, and using it to improve ones self
communication techniques. It is a field of practice and implementation, with a vast range
of techniques, which learners and professional educators can apply within both formal
and informal educational settings.
