Additionally, the essay should describe one of the composer's notable pieces of music and identify attributes that make it Impressionistic or Expressionistic in nature. The essay should be written in APA format without first person narrative and include in-text citations and a reference page, excluding Wikipedia and Ask.com as sources.
1. Write a short essay about a composer of your choice in the
Impressionism or Expressionism genre. Your paper should be
two to three pages in length, and provide the following
information;
A
brief
biography of the Composer's life, including their education and
major influences.
A listing of their musical masterpieces
Include a quotation, either by your composer, or about your
composer, that describes the composer and his/her music.
Explain what the quote might refer to.
Choose one of their most notable pieces of music and write a
description of it. What attributes can you hear that make it
Impressionistic or Expressionistic?. Focus the emphasis of your
essay on the music.
Please remember to use APA formatting. DO NOT write in the
first person narrative. Also, remember to use in text citations.
This essay will also need a reference page. Wikipedia and
Ask.com are not allowed in this class. Do not use or cite those
sources. They are user edited and contain misleading or false
information.
