  2. 2. <ul><li>Double space heading, paper and works cited </li></ul><ul><li>One-inch (1) margins for all four sides </li></ul><ul><li>One half inch (1/2) indent from the left margin for the first line of each paragraph </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>First page only- your name, instructor’s name, course name and date flush left. Add last name and page number flush right in the header (at the very top of each page 2 and on). </li></ul><ul><li>The title is centered on the line after date, but not in italics, quotation marks, bold face, underlined, or all capital letters. </li></ul>

  8. 8. <ul><li>Place a short quote into your text (don’t forget quotation marks). </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>A longer quote of forty (40) words or more begin on a new line with no quotation marks around it. Indent the entire block. </li></ul>
  9. 9. How to Quote Poetry <ul><li>Quotes up to three (3) lines go into the sentence. Don’t forget quotations marks. A slash (/) separates each line of poetry. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>If using more than three (3) lines of a poem indent block and do not use quotation marks. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>

Additional Information When Quoting <ul><li>For a quote within a quote use a single quotation mark for the embedded quote. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>To use a portion of a whole quote use ellipses (….) to indicate a part of the quote was left off. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>To clarify information within a whole quote use square brackets clarification </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>
