  2. 2. PTSD <ul><li>Post-Traumatic Stress disorder is an anxiety disorder that may develop after a person goes through a terrifying experience. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Causes <ul><li>Violent personal attacks </li></ul><ul><li>Natural or human-caused disasters (Rape, child abuse, car accidents, train wrecks, plane crashes, and floods or earthquakes.) </li></ul><ul><li>Military Combat (Torture, bombings, shootings) </li></ul>
  4. 4. Signs and Symptoms <ul><li>Frightening memories and flashbacks of the frightening experience </li></ul><ul><li>Sleep problems </li></ul><ul><li>Feelings of detachment and numbness (emotionally) </li></ul>
  5. 5. Diagnosis <ul><li>The symptoms of PTSD have to last at least a month to truly be considered the disorder. </li></ul><ul><li>PTSD can last from under 6 months, to becoming a chronic disease. </li></ul>
