2. Mission Statement The mission of the Dalhart Independent School District, as a total community instructional system committed to excellence, is to educate students. 4. Goal : 1 DISD will strive to enable all students to become technology literate using electronic networks by integrating technology in the curriculum at all levels. Objective 1.1: Teachers will provide TEKS based learning experiences for all students using a variety of technologies, promoting active learning. Objective 1.2: Integrate technology skills into all subject areas to promote student learning. Objective 1.3: DISD will provide telecommunication tools for use by students, staff, libraries, parents, and the community
5. Goal: 2 Improve educators’ abilities in integrating technology effectively into curriculum, achieving proficiency in SBEC Technology Standards, and encouraging student-centered learning. Objective 2.1: Staff will continually develop and demonstrate technology skills Objective 2.2: DISD will provide opportunities to increase technology skills for educators. Objective 2.3: DISD will provide support for technology use by students, staff, and administration.

Goal: 3 DISD will provide opportunity for students, parents, community, staff and administration that will encourage communication and distribution of data, nurture community partnerships, and support parental involvement Objective 3.1: Administration & staff will use technology to maximize effectiveness & produce data-driven, student-centered learning. Objective 3.2: Administration & staff will effectively communicate with community & parents as well as internally with each other Objective 3.3: Review & modify technology needs

Goal: 4 DISD will, provide, maintain, & update the technology infrastructure of our district to meet the needs of students, faculty, staff, administration & community through hardware software, & training. Objective 4.1: Maintain or retain technology expertise for supporting technology & training in the use of technology. Objective 4.2: Review, maintain, & provide appropriate grade-level software that is aligned with TEKS, TAKS, & STAAR & addresses the accessibility of all students based on physical & developmental abilities, & learning needs. Objective4.3: Explore & promote opportunities that encourage community use of technology.

Schools & libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund “E-Rate” Developed in 1997 Eligible non-profit schools & libraries receive 20-90% discounts Eligible services include: Traditional Telecommunications Services Internet Access Internal Connections Eligibility based on % of students eligible for participations the national School Lunch Program or other federal programs.
10. E-RATE Schools have to show eligibality 20%-90% discounts availible – based on % of students eligible for participation in the National School Lunch Program or other federal programs. Discounts applied include available telecommunication services, Internet access, and internal connections. Started in 1997 as a result of the FCC Eligible services : basic local and long distance services, Internet access, acquisition and installation of equipment to provide internal connections.
