data usage is growing.

needed in a plan. Most Common
Answer ? 11GB+

$10 or more in the previous month for extra
data.

You need to know your data usage before
you shop for a plan. ( We can help!)
If you’re under contract, move up a
plan. If you’re not, shop around.
8. • It is extremely unlikely these
people are correct in their data
estimation.
• On average, people use
between 70% and 100% more
data per year.
• So what ?
• Avoid contracts – see next slide.

In Your Plan ?
ProportionofRespondents

or more in the previous month for
extra data.
• As we’ve seen, average data usage is
increasing for normal users at a rate
of 70% plus a year in our region. That
means that unless your data plan
increases, you will start to exceed
your data inclusion and incur the $10
fee.
• So what ?
• A $10 charge for extra data is a good
indicator that you’re on the wrong
plan.
• If it happens more than once,
consider contacting your phone
company to move up a spend level
(you’ll get more data for $10 that
way).
• If you’re out of contract, consider
shopping around for a better deal.
