2. What are verbs?
Verbs are the action words or state of being words.
Some examples in English are eat, drink, read, are/is,
sleep, wake up. In Japanese, those words come at
the end of the sentence.
あしたピザをたべる。
ジュースをのむ。
おねえさんは18さいです。
ごごじゅういちじにねる。
3. What are nouns?
Nouns are people, places, and things. Some
examples in English are dog, book, department
store, tree, post office, house.
わたしのいぬはかわいいです。
ほんをよむ。
デパートにいきましょう。
いえにきがある。
ゆうびんきょくはちかいです。
4. What are subjects?
Nouns are people, places, and things. Subjects
are nouns that are the things/people doing the action
in the sentence. In Japanese, these words are
marked with either は OR が。
わたし の いぬ は かわいい です。
ほん は、おもしろい です。
デパート は、たのしい です。
いえ に き が ある。
ゆうびんきょく は ちかい です。
5. What are direct objects?
Nouns are people, places, and things and direct objects
are nouns that receive the action of the verb. Some
examples in English are book, hamburger, department
store, juice, house, Japanese (language).
わたしはほんをよむ。
がっこうでハンバーガーをたべる。
いもうとはジュースをのむ。
いえをそうじする。
にほんごをはなす。
6. What are adjectives?
Adjectives are describing words. Some examples in
English are big, small, delicious, sweet, sour, near,
far.
りんごがおいしいです。
アイスクリームはあまいです。
ピザがおおきいです。
がっこうがちかいです。
おとうとはちいさいです。
7. Putting it all together
きっさてんにあまいケーキがある。
おいしいりんごをたべる。
あねはおもしろいほんをよむ。
ともだちとたのしいテレビゲームをする。
にほんでは、せいとはがっこうをそうじする。
