1. For Meeting 2 read Chapters 3 & 4 and work through the following questions
1. Notice how Hettinga lays out the idea that the Kingdom of God is now in conflict with the
kingdom of darkness. He says there was a time when man (Adam and Eve) were happily relating with
God but that they became suspicious of God and joined the kingdom of Satan. From that time on man
has had a tendency to resist God’s authority over. Can you recall times when you resisted God?
2. Read the account of Jesus’ exchange with Pilate. What do we learn about Jesus’ kingdom here?
3. How does the parable in Matt 21:33-40 illustrate the kingdom. What is it that the king wanted from
the tenants? How do they react? How does this story illustrate man’s problem?
4. We are rebels (see sentence on page 36 “The absurdity…”)
What is God’s response? (see the last paragraph on page 36 and also read page 39!)
5. (Chapter 4) How does the cross testify to the fact that we do not have to fear Christ?
6. (p 43) As you stand at the foot of the cross is it easy to let control pass from you to Christ?
