The fearless of all parents who have teenagers is pregnancy. Nowadays, teen pregnancy is a serious
problem. Teenage have a lack of skills to handle a pregnancy. So that impact strongly on the future of
a young woman. Teen pregnancy is associated with negative consequences for adolescents for three
reasons: lack of education, medical complication, uncertainty about the future, and financial
difficulties.
First, the main causes of teenage pregnancy are the lack of education on safe sex, whether it is from

A teen may feel she does not have enough knowledge to be a mother. She may also have fears about
how having a baby will impact her own life and dreams for the future. Only 38 percent of teenage
mothers ages 15–17 earn a high school diploma. By the age of 30, only 1.5 percent of women who
had pregnancies as a teenager have a college degree. Moreover, one–third of children born to
teenage mothers earn a high school diploma, compared to 81 percent of their children with older
parents ("Teen Pregnancy Rates By State"). There are also physical health risk for the baby. Once
their baby is born, teenagers may not be willing or able to give it the undivided attention it needs.
A teen may not be an adequate mother because she is overwhelmed by the constant needs of the
baby. She may grow annoyed at the lack of freedom to interact with her peer group due to the
baby. Children born to teenage mothers are more likely suffer health, social, and emotional
problems than children born to older mothers. As a result, they are at risk for lower of education.
The financial difficulty may arise during a teen pregnancy or after the baby is born. It is expensive
to raise a baby. Teens who do not have full–time employment may struggle to cover the basic

Every year over 400,000 babies are born to girls who are younger than 19. 25% of the girls who have
a child go on welfare within three years of the birth of their child. By age 22, 34% of those girls
have not earned their high school diploma or GED and by age 30, less than 2% have earned a

Teen pregnancy is a growing epidemic in the United States. Teen girls are becoming pregnant at an
alarming rate, with a lot of the pregnancies planned. With television shows broadcasting shows such
as "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom", it is giving teenage girls the idea that it is alright to have
premarital sex and become pregnant. It is in a way condoning teen pregnancy.

appear to have contributed to a decline in the rates of sexual intercourse among teens. The Youth

Teen pregnancy is often unplanned and challenging for the future life of mother and child. The
increase risk of health problems for both mother and baby occur during teen pregnancy. Teen
pregnancy impacts adolescent development in all aspects: physical, emotional, cognitive, and social
development. Negative consequences result from teen pregnancy include: low income, increased
school dropout rates, lower educational levels, and increased rates of substance abuse (Garwood,

Interventions have shown to address issues related to adolescent sexual behavior such as reducing
sexual partners, reducing unprotected sexual intercourse and decreasing teen pregnancy. Healthy Teen
Transition is a teen outreach program, it is an intervention program that is offered in schools, after
school programs and community settings. Healthy Teen Transitions teen outreach program overall
goal is to help adolescents build relationships with supportive adults, build interpersonal skills and

Teenage pregnancy is one of many issues that the United States has. It is one issue that can be fixed
easily and should be waited upon until teens are married and know what they are doing with their
lives. This issue came about in the early in the 1950's – 1960's. Teen pregnancy is a teenage girl

There is a lack of communication between parents and their teenagers. Either their relationship are
too weak or too strong between teens and their parents (Speedy Remedies) . Weak relationships
involve lack of discipline, control, affection, and attention. Too strong relationships involve
overbearing parents and too many restrictions. Drinking and drugs contributes to pregnancy because
they contort better judgment. The media is the main contributor now that technology is advancing.
Young people often look to the media in order to see what the so–called trend is or they look for
how they should look, act, or be. Occasionally, abuse is the result of teenage pregnancy. The results

Background: Globally, pregnancy and childbirth complications are the major cause of death among
15 to 19 year olds. Teenage pregnancy and childbirth is a common health problem in industrialized,
middle or low income countries. It is also a major social and health problem in Nepal and occurs

What is Teen Pregnancy? Teenage pregnancy is pregnancy in human females under the age of 20.
A girl can become pregnant from sexual intercourse after she has begun to ovulate which can be
before her first menstrual period, but usually occurs after the onset of her periods. In well–nourished
girls, menarche usually takes place around the age of 12 or 13. Most teenage girls don 't plan to get
pregnant, but many do. Teen pregnancies carry extra health risks to both the mother and the baby.
Often, teens don 't get prenatal care soon enough, which can lead to problems later on. They have a
higher risk for pregnancy–related high blood pressure and its complications. Risks for the baby
include premature birth and a low birth weight. The numbers of teenage pregnancy are very high
but when you think about the numbers most could have been prevented with the use of protection.
Some people may not afford condoms but if you cannot afford a condom you cannot afford a baby.
Children from homes ran by teenage mothers go through a hard time in life. Teenage mothers have
no time for other things, because they are busy taking care of their baby. Most teen mothers end up
dropping out of high school, because they do not have time for school anymore. Research shows
