1. Significance of SRSP
Rural Suport Program (SRSP) under the Trust act of 1882, was established
on December 30, 1995. Soon after a period of one year it was registered by
the year of 1996. It has the linkages and memberships with different
networks such as Network of National Humanitarian Organizations, Sindh
NGOs Network on HIV/Aids (SNNHA), Human Resources
DevelopmeSindh nt Network (HRDN), Sindh Coastal Area Development
Network (SCAN) and Climate Change (RDF). Within Sindh, it is since its
registeration working in many of the domains in terms of eighteen different
districts. It has the objectives to mobilize disadvantageous social groups
such as peasants, landless and labouresrs, to increase social infrastructures
such as health, education, water, alternate energy through colaborative
interventions, to promote democracy and human rights and others too
concerning socio-economic empowerment. It has successfully implemented
Livelihood Employment and Enterprize Development (LEED) project with
the partership of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) having the main
goal of alleviating the poverty and offering access to improved infrastructure
of the communities, building the capacity of community organization and
besides this it has worked to build the vibrant community women, youth,
elderly and disabled in two Union Cpouncils of taluka Jati, District Sujawal.
For this project there was a one day conference held in that District in which
nearly more than 200 participants including other organization attended. in
this project it has done work for advocacy on health and advocacy on birth
spacing too. By contrast, in the different 16 union councils of the different
distrcts it has also, under the partnership with UNICEF, implemented the
Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) having the
purpose of ameliorating the condition of mother and child nutrition health
care. In this project it benefited the population of nearly 180, 873. Within
entire sindh, indubitably, SRSP is working to combat the social evils such as
women mitigation, child and mother nutrition health care, building new
roads and a great deal of other snigs along with making the rural sindh a
developed one. the program is now doing a praiseworthy task to
accompliash. accordingly.
