Y
• La Ronda is one of the most legendary
and famous places in Quito, Ecuador
between the XIX and XX century
because of the bars, brothels and
liquor stores all along the Juan de Dios
Morales street. The Artisans,
musicians, poets and other artists
considered this place as their home.
• In the colonial time most of the
Spanish people had their crops near
the ravine and for that reason it got
polluted, but in the XVII century this
place started to be inhabited.
5. • After being deteriorated,
the Quito’s Municipality
has restored the real
essence of La Ronda’s
culture was brought back
to its origins.
• Now a days La Ronda is full
of restaurants, cafeterias,
bars, spots for artisans to
sell their work, traditional
candy stores and even an
orphanage.

7. HOW TO GET THERE
Location
It is located on the following streets
called Morales, Venezuela,
Guayaquil, Maldonado between the
puente de la paz and puente nuevo
on the Juan de Dios Morales ‘s
street.
How to get there
You could take the trolebus
transportation system until you get
to the Cumandas’s bus stop.

• At night the lights shine bright and the
environment gets better with live music and
traditional food that the bars and restaurants
offer. The prices goes from 1$ to 20$
depending on the handcraft, plates or
beverages you want to consume.

consists of cinnamon and sugarcane liquor
ideal for the cold weather.
• The empanadas de viento or morocho is the
traditional food.
