2. Why I choose Florence Nightingale
I chose Florence Nightingale because I think she
was an amazing person from the past. She
changed the world by following her dream and
never taking no for an answer. Her heroism
when she was in the war hospital helping the
sick men was amazing. Florence was a great
women, I hope people can see that.

Florence was determined to achieve the best for
her patients in difficult times. She also was one
of the main reasons the Red Cross started. In
1877 the War Office decided to get more
women as nurses employed in military hospitals
because of her and to put Florence Nightingale
in the face of official opposition. Her work had
been practiced in 1869 at the Royal Victoria
Hospital, which became a significant Red Cross
hospital.

I think one of the big achievements for her must
have been becoming a nurse and getting more
ladies to become nurses.
Florence decided in 1907 to create a
commemorative International Nightingale

the nursing field.
